Can you win the most votes for your Party by giving the best speech on the randomly chosen Policy & Theme? These could be as diverse as Defence & Toys or Health & Supervillians.
Will you give a sensible speech or a silly speech?
In the end, you just need to persuade the other players to Vote ME!
The game consists of 110 cards, a 60 second sand timer and a dice (for when you want to follow the more challenging option). There are enough cards in one box for up to 10 people play, but for larger groups all you need is extra voting cards (from another box) to incorporate more players. Whilst is is possible to play with over 100 players it would probably be a bit silly.
All the design work and play testing for the game have been completed (yay!) so this kickstarter is all about one thing - Production.
Vote ME! is a vocal party game for three or more players, split into Parties and can take from about 10-15 minutes (3 round game, a few players) up to 90 minutes (9 rounds, 7+ players).
Each round has three steps:
1) Draw cards - the area card that is being contested and the Policy and Theme card for the round
2) Give speeches - one player from each party has to give a 1 minute speech based on the rounds Policy and Theme
3) All players vote for the Party (other than their own) that they thought gave the best speech. The Party with the most votes wins the area card.
At the end of the game, the Party with the most area cards wins.
The Policy cards cover things you would normally expect to see in an election, and are there to provide a focus for the speech. The Theme cards provide additional flavour for the speech content, and normally, the only the title of the Theme card is used, with the 6 options used as inspiration. However, if you want to add a bit more of a challenge to your game, you can roll a dice and use the corresponding option to the number rolled as the theme.
We were at Dragonmeet in December where Dem Drunk Blokes came along to our stand, played a game of Vote ME! with us and recorded it. You can hear it on their podcast here at approx 40 minutes in (note, some of the language is a little fruity in places, it was in the afternoon, and they had imbibed a tipple or three).
There will be five Kickstarter Exclusive Vote ME! dice produced, one for each Party, using the Party's colour and 6 being replaced with the appropriate Party icon.
In order to show our appreciation, all backers at Supporter level and higher will receive a Kickstarter Exclusive Vote ME! dice of their choice. If you can't make up your mind which one you would like, there is an add-on where you can have ALL the dice.
We are going to AireCon in Harrogate on 10th & 11th March 2018, where you can come and play a game of Vote ME! using our initial Preview copies of the game. Any backer that comes and says hello (or other form of greeting) will get a free Redwell Games Promotional dice.
We will also be at UK Games Expo 2018 on the 1st-3rd June 2018, at the NEC. Any backer that collects their pledge from us over the Expo weekend will also receive a Redwell games promotional dice.
Finally, one of the stretch goals (Goal 9) will be for some exclusive cards. We are not going to say what these are at the moment, but think Monty Brewster.
Goal 1 - £3,500
Unlock the Vote ME! game mat optional Add-on.
Goal 2 - £4,500
Win a copy - first name is drawn from the pool.
What does this mean? At the end of the campaign, we will compile a pool of names from the list of people who like the Redwell Games Facebook page and also those who share or retweet any Redwell Games posts about this Kickstarter campaign. It is therefore possible that names can be duplicated in this pool. A number of names will be drawn from this pool based on how many "win a copy" stretch goals are reached. These people will be contacted, and they can choose to either win a copy of the game, or the game mat and we will send their prize to them free of charge.
Goal 3 - £5,500
Win a copy - a second name is drawn from the pool.
Goal 4 - £6,500
Changed. Is now, "win a copy - a third AND fourth name is drawn from the pool"
Goal 5 - £8,500
Win a copy - a fifth name is drawn from the pool.
Goal 6 - £10,500
Win a copy - a sixth name is drawn from the pool.
Goal 7 - £13,000
Free delivery for all UK pledges.
Goal 8 - £17,000

Goal 9 - £20,000
Free exclusive cards! More info to follow when we get closer to this stretch goal.

Risks and challenges
All the design work has been completed, so there will be no delay for this, except to correct any snags that may occur from first proof prints.
We are using reputable and experienced printers, so there is no concern about the game being printed, and I have chosen printers who have said they should be able to complete a print run in time for UK Games Expo 2018.
However, acts of nature and other unforeseen circumstances can still occur to cause delays, but we will maintain regular updates to our backers so that they are kept fully appraised of expected timescales.
As this is our first Kickstarter, we are limiting the countries we are sending to, to minimise any potential issues with dispatch. However, we will keep this situation under review, and will contemplate posting to countries outside of the EU, dependant on demand.
See Update 1: We are now shipping to the United States, but haven't worked out costs fully, so shipping to the United States AFTER the campaign has ended.
