SYHME 2014 + 360° Interactive Spoken Word Video!

Thanks again for backing "Say You Heard My Echo" for its NYC premiere in September 2012!  We had a fantastic tour production at UC-Santa Cruz's Rainbow Theater in April 2013. As we percolate on the project, look out for new updates and a potential online component to roll out in September 2014.

In the meantime, Moving Earth Productions has just premiered an amazing new media project integrating arts, social justice, and tech named #SelfCentered. It's a 360° interactive spoken word video, which means YOU the viewer can scroll left, right, 360° around the video and even swipe/tilt the image on smartphone.

Check it out via or click the image below:

Tweet me @yellowgurlpoet #SelfCentered re: what would YOU do if you were the center of everything for a day - and check out the series of #SelfCentered conversation starters on Instagram @yellowgurlpoet

Enjoy and please do spread the love, we promise you're not likely to have seen anything like it before! Any blog, FB, RT love re: the 360° video is most definitely appreciated :)

Thanks so much for your support in making arts + social change projects possible!

One last THANK YOU: Sold-out shows, pics, + press!!!

Dear Team Say You Heard My Echo:

THANK YOU from the bottoms of our hearts for your support to making a fantastic run at HERE Arts Center possible :) We did in fact also sell out our last two performances of the show, and got another lovely press mention in Our Chinatown!

The most commonly used words that I heard from folks to describe it were: moving, beautiful, amazing, and complex. So, I'd most definitely say we're very proud and happy with this run! Our creative team has been taking a little time to re-coup after the run (and then I got knocked out by the flu last week after touring in Florida).

We will have video clips of the show up soon, and are very happy to announce that we've been getting inquiries from coast to coast for "Say You Heard My Echo" - so this will definitely NOT be the last time we're putting the show up :) If you know of a presenter that is interested in getting more information about the show, email our producing team at

For backers who have chapbooks, CD's, or downloads coming your way - your packages/downloads will be on their way before the end of this week. (Sorry for the delay!)

  • If you haven't already emailed us with your choice of chapbooks, CD's, or downloads, definitely email our team at with your preferences and mailing address, and we'll be emailing to follow up and verify this week.

Here are few select pics from our run (Courtesy of Set Designer Extraordinaire Chien-Yu Peng) - you can check more out at our FB Photo Album - PLUS our "What is Sacred to You?" card that we invited audience members to fill out and tie with a red ribbon to our set post-show. If you'd like to check out more of these cards, you can find them all at (Courtesy of our Producer Extraordinaire Ying Le)!

THANK YOU SO MUCH. We're proud to have our crew 158 Backers strong (and more who contributed after the deadline) in making this project come to fruition - onwards and upwards. It made all of the hard work more than worth it!

Excited for what's next to come for "Say You Heard My Echo" and for all of you to have been a part of its creation -

Poetry always,

Kelly :)

3 shows down & 3 shows to go :) + New Press + we SOLD OUT the house last night!

Dear Kickstarter backers:

THANK YOU again for all of your support in making "Say You Heard My Echo" possible. The pay-off has been so great to hear from our audiences that they were "blown away" by the work or statements like "I feel like you took our hearts and just put them on the stage."

One young woman thanked me last night for how SYHME made her feel so uncomfortable since it's renewed her passion for social justice. A community organizer friend who works tirelessly fighting for immigrant communities said it was so refreshing to engage with these issues through art. Another woman told me she was so happy to see gritty NYC women represented on stage - not just "Sex and the City" types, lol :)

We have 3 MORE SHOWS in NYC (2 PM Sat. 9/15, 7 PM Sat. 9/15, 2 PM Sun. 9/16) and we definitely don't want folks to miss it (we sold out the house last night and are likely to sell out tonight also, woo-hoo!). They can snag tix at - Use discount code FRIEND for $15 tix to all shows!

Check out our awesome press and more audience quotes below - THANK YOU AGAIN FOR YOUR SUPPORT - without you this wouldn't be possible!
