BackerKit and Turf Previews

Long time no see, Boppers,

It’s been two weeks now since we announced the suspension and imminent relaunch of The Warriors: Turf War Kickstarter campaign. We appreciate the heck out of all you backers who have stayed active providing suggestions and encouragement for our campaign overhaul, and we wanted to drop by with a preview of some of the cool stuff we’ve been busy with.

We’re excited to announce that we’ll be using BackerKit in our updated campaign. Those of you familiar with the service can probably guess part of what that means. Many of you have requested the option to purchase additional sets of the game’s miniatures on the side, and Backerkit will allow us to provide exactly that option, along with any number of other cool add-ons. On top of that, BackerKit allows backers to change their pledge tier and add add-ons to their pledge after the campaign has ended. To summarize: It’s a really cool thing.

Along with hammering out some exciting updates on the manufacturing end of things (more news on that at a later date), we’ve also been steadily adding new pieces to our rapidly growing archive of art assets. Our incredibly talented in-house artist, David Pinos, has been working tirelessly to turn the iconic locations of The Warriors into the turf boards you’ll actually be using in the game.

Check out a few of the work-in-progress turfs below:

@Tommy Rayburn - Improving the Rule Book is an item on our to-do list, but I will say that it isn't currently a high priority. The Rule Book folks receive in the final game will obviously be much improved and more visually appealing than what we have shown now, but the version we're currently showing is meant to be more of a preview of the game mechanics than a representation of a final Rule Book.

Are you expecting the rules to be more fleshed out text wise and visually?

I really recommend having a copywriter go through the rules and try and play without any instruction so they can help fill gaps.

Looks great. Hope to see the new campaign soon!
