Shipping Delay

By now many of our backers have received an email notifying them of a problem with one of the parts. We'd like to take advantage of this Updates area to share images of the problem and state what we're doing to fix it.

The issue causes a 2mm change in the dimensions of the Side Track, making the wheel very difficult to assemble. While we were able to fully assemble the wheel using a rubber mallet, we don't expect our customers to go through the same process. It is simply not good enough for our customers.

We are not sure how many wheels are affected, but so far it seems to be most of them. Our manufacturer made a second injection mold for the parts and we believe it is this second mold that has affected these parts, as our first and second articles were good. We will be opening every box and inspecting them for bad parts, this unfortunately will take us a lot of time. The affected parts are plastic injection molded so we intend to remake these parts. We apologize for the inconvenience but in the long run we want you to have a great working product that lasts a lifetime.

      I am not sure why some are so uptight about delays. Delays happen in production with every product known to man and especially with new products. And for those assuming that these are lousy or that these don't even exist at all, you can try using your own intelligence and doing your own research like intelligent people do. There are videos out there of some people that already have this wheel, in China I think, and it looks to be an excellent quality.I am fully aware of production delays and I am fully aware of the latest update we received and I I'm aware of how to comprehend said update so as of right now like a lot of you have posted I am content to be patient. After all patience is a virtue.

      I understand there were issues about the less-than-acceptable quality of the work by the manufacturer and certainly want it to be right, but its mid-November and we've gotten no updates. Please let us know hat the status is. thank you so much.

      I am ok with the delay. Thanks for good QC. I hope you guys are do not lose money due to the manufacturing defect. Do we have to wait for another shipment to come across the ocean?

      A huge kudos to the team for identifying the defective parts, keeping us informed, and working very hard to ship quality products out. I can only imagine how stressful it must be for you guys to work it out under the intensified pressure. My cats and I do not mind waiting at all.       I was very excited to get my wheel but am having a difficult time putting it together. I believe mine is defective. I got one of the side tracks put together with a mallet. However I am unable to insert the track on the assembly ring. This very disappointing. I was hoping the mallet would help but it is impossible. How will you handle returns and when can I get a new one?

      Thank you for the update showing pics of the concern. I feel bad that everyone at "One Fast Cat" is having to deal with this issue, you must be very stressed out! I want to let you know that I am perfectly fine with waiting for a perfect finished product!

      Darla. If you're looking for handouts and refunds you're in the wrong place. Maybe you should have purchased off of Amazon instead. However you backed an idea and product on kickstarter; you clearly don't understand how the ks process works and give good honest backers a bad name.

      I am very pleased this was caught before the wheels were shipped out! I was excited to be getting my wheel this month, but I will wait to have one that is exactly as I ordered it.

      As for the "defective" wheels.....will those be put to good use and donated to local shelters throughout the US? Or will they be sent back to the manufacturer or sold at a discounted rate? Just curious, as I don't deal in quality control issues.

      Honestly, my biggest concern is the theft of the IP by the Chinese manufacturer. I'm so cynical I wouldn't be surprised if this was a ploy giving them enough time to beat you to market.

      Way to handle this issue guys! I can't imagine the time and effort you all are going through to make sure we all receive a top-of-the line product but please know that it is truly appreciated!

      I appreciate quality control. On the other hand, thousands of people paid about $200.00 or more for a product we are not getting until months after paying. Your company had tens of thousands of dollars and a lot of time to make a workable product.
      How about 20% of what we paid back in our PayPal account? That would make me believe you really want to make things right, not only apologizing for what went wrong (which I appreciate), but backing up that apology with a discount on the product we paid for months ago.

      My six (6) felines and I offer our sincerest Condolences for the glitch in the product, and the understandable aggravation of having to deal with it so unexpectedly. Clearly, better now than later, after all products had shipped.. I'm truly grateful that I'm dealing with such a reputable company. Best of luck for all future shipments.

      I'm certainly glad I won't have to use a rubber mallet on my cat wheel- but I'm not going to lie I was crushed when I read the email telling me of the delay as I got the email confirming it was shipped 20 minutes prior to that and started celebrating with my kitties before reading the bad news, oh well, fingers crossed for a quick fix

      My husband & I are owners of a quality control company, Roaming Inspections, Inc, so we truly understand the 2 mm difference affecting the part. I wish we were in the area, we would help you!
