We are Crimson Apple; an all-girl, pop-alt band from the Hawaiian island of Oahu. We are currently working on our debut album, "Hello"! What started off as an EP transformed into a 12-track album, which will include some of our brand new music.
A Little Info About Us
The award winning all-girl, pop-alt band, Crimson Apple, features four sisters and their good family friend. The band is comprised of:
-COLBY BENSON (Lead vocals/Keys/Keytar)
-SHELBY BENSON (Rhythm/Lead Guitar/Vocals)
-CARTHI BENSON (Bass)
-FAITH BENSON (Drums)
-RACHEL LOOK (Lead Guitar/Vocals/Flute)
Colby, Shelby, and Rachel were originally members of “The Colby Benson Band”, but ended up losing a few of their other bandmates, leaving them without a bassist and drummer. In August 2012, the band went through a huge makeover when they added Carthi and Faith (the two youngest sisters)—and the band name was changed to Crimson Apple.
To date, awards include being the winners of the 2014 Star 101.9 Battle of the Bands, the 2013 Turtle Bay Annual Kanikapila Kontest, and the 2013 Koko Marina Band Challenge. Additionally, the band’s lead singer, Colby, won second place as a songwriter in the Grammy Foundation's And Music Cares Teens! Make Music Contest, where she got to attend the Grammy’s backstage. Crimson Apple has also appeared on shows/bills with national artists such as Will Champlain, Switchfoot, and One Republic.
After performing at numerous venues island-wide and gaining a strong social media following, the band decided that their next step is releasing their first album.
Crimson Apple is known for the tightness, presence, and energy of their powerful live performances; and they are working hard to give the album that same feeling. The music included in the album has well-written and arranged instrumentation paired with hooky and meaningful lyrics.
“I see big things in their future, plus you know I am the number one supporter of rocker girls from Hawai’i.”
-Erin Smith, Honolulu Pulse
“The all-female rock outfit Crimson Apple has consistently showcased a brand of melody-driven pop rock island-wide since the group’s inception in 2012. Along with a significant subscriber base on YouTube, these Mililani girls have played countless venues and continue to generate buzz both on and off the web.”
-Evan Morgan, INh Magazine
We have already recorded the full album and are currently in the middle of getting the songs mixed. After this, we will need to send the songs off for mastering and then off to be printed! Here is a general cost breakdown for "Hello".
This equals up to $14,600. If you can help us meet our goal of $8,000, we will be able to cover the remaining amount.
We view "Hello" as a huge step for the band, and to finally have our music available to share with the public is something we are really looking forward to. Once the album is completed, we plan to hold a huge album launch party on September 18th, 2015 to help promote it. After this, we have plans of touring in Japan in the Summer of 2016.

Risks and challenges
Crimson Apple is an independent band from Hawaii. We are self-managed and operated, therefore we do not have all the influence and power that a large music record company has. However, we are determined to put our full time and efforts into promoting the band, and you can be assured that we will do the same with this project. When creating an album, there are many different factors that can create possible risks. Luckily, we've already got half the album done! We believe that our current plans for finishing the album are well thought out, reducing much of the risk involved.
In the hurricane of what will come leading up to and after the album is released, rest-assured that we will do everything possible to ensure your orders are delivered on-time as promised. If there is any hint that orders may be delayed, we will definitely notify you as soon as possible.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
