I'VE ALREADY BEGUN, FOR YOU TO FINISH
GALACTIC RAIDERS is a full length motion picture that was started many years ago. I started with the thought of financing it myself as this would be my very first motion picture. It has been shot entirely, including the visual effects, on 35mm film. No cheap video, or HD, or digital camera was used. I structured the film so I could shoot only one or two characters at a time. I saved some money and started shooting the part of the hero, Rymir, played by Danny Fehsenfeld, and completed those scenes. I saved more money and hired the heroin, Rosanna, played by Moksha McPherrin, and shot her scenes with Danny. Then I saved a considerable amount of money. Hired two other actors, Erica Howard, who played Laura, and Elliot Eddie, who played Acastus. I shot their scenes where they were separate and together and then with Danny and Moksha in the last scenes of the film. Along the way, came the other two characters, Cyrus, played by Lloyd Llee Barnett, and Bellus, played by my son, Joseph Arpin, for a handful of scenes. They have appeared in the opening and a few other smaller scenes. From then until now I have completed over 300 effects, mostly stop motion scenes. I currently have an hour long cut. So this is more than half way done. And that is where I need you to help fund the rest of the filming and visual effects.
The money will be used to film the remaining scenes of Cyrus and Bellus and another character who shall remain a secret until the film is ready to be screened. That character is the real heart of my film and with the main animated character will have a spectacular scene together and many separately. Also, the money will be used to do the sound mix, the music, certain rights clearances, the color timing of the film, sound track negative, shooting out the film negative, and completing the final composite print.
Some rewards will be able to be delivered as soon as they are made and delivered to me, such as T-shirts, mugs, bobbleheads, then the stop motion models. Of course, your credit and tickets to the film will obviously have to wait for the film to finish. If the amount of pledges exceeds a certain amount I won't seek distribution right away and deliver the DVDs. Rewards are very specific and if it is not listed you won't get it. Please read rewards carefully before you make a decision.

Risks and challenges
One of the challenges I have is the availability of Lloyd Barnett to complete his role as Cyrus. If Lloyd is not available there will be the addition of casting another actor and shooting what little is already shot. I will not re-shoot the beginning as I will write in a work-around for the character. If you are curious how this will work, you will have to see it for yourself. Might get a good laugh, and that's what I'm looking for in the two characters of Cyrus and Bellus. But it will break my heart if he is unavailable as he and Joe are one of the highlights of my film. They are the comedy relief. Lloyd is presently working as an effects artist for a Visual Effects company. He has worked on many big-budget effects films such as LORD OF THE RINGS, SPIDERMAN, and AVATAR.
I guess, the biggest challenge, is the visual effects. I am already building the main animated character and will be done by the time my Kickstarter project is launched. But there are many more scenes to animate, including additional scenes with the 6-legged horse and the last scene of the Vorax as he is 'disposed' of. I won't tell you what happens to him. You will have to see for yourself. Also, additional background scenes for the animated characters will also have to shot.
The only other challenge I have is to finish in time for submission to the Sundance Film festival. Hopefully, it will also be ready for the B-movie Celebration in September of 2013. I have already gotten this far and it shouldn't take that much to finish it.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
