Our Founder/Artistic Director: Colton Berry (American Idol Season 7; Top 24, Showtime! At the Apollo! On Tour!, Masquerade Theatre; Resident Company Member/Designer, Presbury Theatrical Training Program; Founder/Artistic Director, The Music Box Theater; Founding Company Member/Writer/Designer) is in the process of realizing his dream of founding and Artistic Directing a professional theatre company featuring the local talent of Houston. As an encore production of last year's self-produced, noteworthy performance, he has selected "Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show" as the opening production of the inaugural season of Bayou City Theatrics.
Our Mission Statement: Bayou City Theatrics exists to entertain, enrich, educate, and unite Houston arts patrons and artists. It fills the niche of a Houston-based musical theatre company, relying primarily on the talent of Houston artists and audience support. We provide the opportunity for high quality youth education in the performing arts that is affordable to all ranges of income, not just the economically advantaged.
Our Vision Statement: Through the production and performance of high-art, conceptualized pieces of musical theatre, Bayou City Theatrics will offer fresh, diverse, and professional art for Houston audiences and artists.
Plans for the Future: Bayou City Theatrics has an exciting season of seven well-known musicals in store! Our production of “Richard O’Brien’s The Rocky Horror Show” will kick off the inaugural season with last year’s cast (from the highly successful independent production) reprising the show in brand new roles. PBS celebrity Ernie Manouse returns to navigate the cast through their bizarre journey as the Narrator, and the incomparable Tye Blue will again lead the cast as Dr. Frank’N’furter. Our Artistic Director, Colton Berry, will play the roles of Eddie/Dr. Scott. The cast also features Beth Lazarou, Bobby Haworth, Wendy Taylor, Scott Lupton, Arianna Bermudez, and Doug Dorsten as the title character, Rocky. We will continue our season with 3 titles in our winter stock (January), an all-youth production (April), and 3 more popular titles in our summer stock (July). Our annual season will provide ample opportunity for Houston performers, youth, and educators.
How You Can Help: As an organization, under the 501c3 umbrella of Bayou City Performing Arts, all revenue is created through tax deductible donations from individuals and corporations. We depend solely on the support of our patrons to present high-art conceptualizations of beloved musical theatre works. We are thrilled to present "Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show."

Underwriting: If you would like to make a sizeable contribution to the future of Bayou City Theatrics, underwriting a portion of our current production is the perfect way to help! There are several aspects of producing a musical that make up a significant amount of the total production budget. Donations toward underwriting the production will earn recognition in our playbill for the entire season. Underwriters with contributions over $2,000 will include a pair of VIP complimentary tickets to every show in our 2012-2013 season.
