Can you imagine being able to throw out your toothbrush, floss and mouthwash while still being able to achieve excellent oral health? Can you imagine a hands-free device that takes just a few minutes to achieve the benefits of all three of those traditional oral care methods combined? That device is called CLEARsmile, and with your help, together we can make it available.
Thank you for visiting our Kickstarter page! We have been working for years on making this device a reality, and we can't wait to get it into the hands of consumers. You have our heartfelt thanks!
The CLEARsmile Story
Originally conceived by Dr. Igor Reizenson in Atlanta, GA, the device was dreamed up while Reizenson was working as part of his residency program at the Veterans Hospital of Western New York. During that time, he encountered elderly, bed-ridden patients, and Dr. Reizenson was greatly saddened to observe the lack of attention to oral health care in this fragile group. It was impossible for staff to continually brush and floss this group of patients in a proper and effective manner. Some patients could hardly sit up, some could barely open their mouths. This was what sparked the thought: “Why isn't here a machine that can effectively clean our mouths while being small, easy to physically handle and be simple to use?”
We decided to set up this Kickstarter project to get the first series of CLEARsmile devices to the hands of consumers as quickly as possible. It has been designed to be usable by most adults and for kids over the age of five.
The success of this crowd-funding project will illustrate to potential investors and venture capital groups that there is a demand and a need for this device, eventually helping us to mass-produce CLEARsmile and make it available in supermarkets and drug stores nationwide. Sharing this device with the world is our big dream, and you can help today by becoming a contributor!
CLEARsmile does not claim to cure, treat, or prevent an illness or condition. It is a tech device designed to replace traditional oral health tools.
How it Works
To watch a short video on how CLEARsmile works please visit our website at www.clearsmileonline.com.
The user first drops a cleansing tablet into the open container and when water is added, froths into a dense “scrubbing-bubbles” bio-compatible cleansing solution. The appropriate-sized mouth piece is placed in the mouth (the device comes with three to choose from), the desired pressure is set, and the CLEARsmile starts to pump the solution through the “in” tube, which jets the solution through hundreds of tiny orifices in the mouth piece. There is a programmed/timed cycle so that the jet pulses the correct amount of solution appropriate to the size of the mouthpiece. It powerfully pulses for 15 seconds, allowing the “scrubbing-bubbles” solution to micro-mechanically dislodge and pop off the plaque and bacteria. It jets between and all around the teeth and gums, pressure washing every nook and crevice from every direction simultaneously.
The solution also contains currently proven active ingredients that are chemically bactericidal. This rhythmic pulsing cycle continues for three minutes. The system pressure washes the plaque and bacteria off of gums and teeth mechanically, micro-mechanically, as well as chemically.
This is the most recent prototype video. The funding we receive will go into manufacturing a much smaller, quieter counter top device for future incarnations of CLEARsmile.

Kickstarter Campaign. A HUGE Thank You to all of our contributors!
October / November 2014
Finalize all product specifications and test the initial devices, mouth pieces and tablets to make sure they work perfectly. They will be fabricated and tested in Mexico by a manufacturer that produces various hygiene products for a Multinational pharmaceutical corporation.
Fabricate the first batch of devices and mouth pieces and tablets. Have them boxed and stored.
Start shipping out the CLEARsmile packages to all US-only Kickstarter contributors.
Start shipping any international contributors. The packages should all be shipped out by 9/15 and ready for gift giving by holiday season 2015.

$16,500 is the minimum amount we need to get CLEARsmile off of the ground and create 250 devices. The more people who contribute, the larger the order we can put in at the factory and there is no limit to the number of devices we can have created. As a thank-you for early adopters, we are giving the first 99 contributors a device for only $99 each. After the first 99 have been accounted for, the devices will be $125 each. Once the device is available for general purchase, it will retail for $199.
Each device will come with three adult mouth pieces:
one small, one medium, one large. And 2 months supply of cleansing tablets. You will be able to order child size mouth pieces and replenishment tablets on our website www.clearsmileonline.com on December 2015.
Here is the breakdown for the first $16,500 that we need to raise:
- Fabricate 250 devices at $17.50 each = $4,375
- Fabricate 750 mouthpieces (small, medium, large) = $562.50
- Fabricate 1000 tablet packets = $2000
- Delivery of products from Mexico to Atlanta = $950
- Shipping 250 devices, mouthpieces and tables from Atlanta to Kickstarter contributors = $6,250
- Miscellaneous expenses include updating the CLEARsmile site to process orders, provide customer support and travel between Atlanta and Mexico to visit the factory = $2362.50
Total = $16,500
*NEW* Stretch Goal
If the campaign hits the $60,000 mark, then everyone who contributes at the $99 level and up will receive:
- 24 additional months supply of cleaning tablets, totaling 26 months supply (when used twice a day).
Please help spread the word to your friends and family about CLEARsmile, and everyone will be rewarded! The good news is, we are already one third of the way there with 25 days to go.

Risks and challenges
The risks and challenges are:
1. Production - Keeping up with a high demand for the device and cleansing tablets. We would handle that by tightly coordinating with our manufacturer out in Mexico City.
2. Manufacturing - We are creating a product in a foreign country with all of the possible benefits and non-predictables that this may encompass. Dr. Reizenson will likely need to visit the plant at some point to assist in the fabrication process and facilitate product-specific manufacturing.
3. Logistics - Keeping shipping cost low while shipping globally.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
