As for getting multiple copies of the same game I agree. There's a ton if games I would re-buy if they came out on wii u I think.

    16. bloodraven43 tormented Weresheep on September 4, 2013

yeah right....pc is the best...mods are great...have fallout new vegas on ps3...fallout 3 on the 360 and all of them plus the dlc on the perfer the pc but my consoles play on a 55 inch compared to my pc monitor is only 24inch....cant win i

    17. Brett Morehouse on September 4, 2013

I have the Mass Effect trilogy on PC :p

I don't think it's crazy to have multiple copies. I'm sure I'll end up with Deus Ex Human Revolution on PC (original) and Wii U (Director's Cut). Then there are games I'll only purchase once and have a specific preference. Like Fallout 3 and New Vegas on PC. I have to have my mods!

    18. bloodraven43 tormented Weresheep on September 3, 2013

pretty sure the demos are their but demos are hard to judge....the game itself sometimes dosent play as well as the demo...example mass effect played great on the 360 as a demo...the game itself lagged bad in parts of the game....have the trilogy for the ps3 but havent had time to play it....sometimes i buy for all three system cause the one lags so bad...have mass effect for 360/ps3/and pc...crazy huh??? a fan of nothing...just want to play a game that dosent

    19. Brett Morehouse on September 2, 2013

As I said, I want to see if Platinum Games ports Bayonetta first. Won't hold my breath, of course. That's Sega's call.

Still, Kotaku is typically a Sony fanboy site. IGN typically favors Microsoft.

As for GameFly...I'd like to avoid them all together. I haven't checked in a while; are demo's still available to download on the respective networks?

    20. bloodraven43 tormented Weresheep on September 1, 2013

idk...i own the game on the ps3 and loading times are my only your know what to tell you but dont believe everything you also own a 360 but the graphics are better on the ps3...that was my reason for buying on that platform.....join gamefly for free and check out both versions before you buy one...the media out there dosent have a clue anymore i dont

    21. Stephen Macneil on August 31, 2013

@Brett I stand corrected. I just reread the ign review of the game that talks about the differences. It's really strange I got it backwards because I have the 360 and don't own a ps3 and was holding off on buying it because of my screwup. It is debatable about the ps3 having better specs though; the cell processing is better on paper but only Sony's first and second parties could ever master it. The 256mb dedicated graphics ram hurts too.

    22. Brett Morehouse on August 30, 2013

      Still a nope.

I keep looking, and neither framerates nor textures have been fixed. I haven't found anything about gameplay issues I've heard about being resolved either. Only load times.

    23. bloodraven43 tormented Weresheep on August 30, 2013

@Brett Morehouse....nope your wrong...if you read that artical it states that ps3/360 were side by side comparisons of the japanese versions of the game...the ones that were released later in the usa run great on the ps3...i have

    24. Brett Morehouse on August 30, 2013

      Nope. I got it right.

People complain about blurriness, framerate, and overall gameplay on the PS3 version.

If Platinum Games or Sega don't port Bayonetta over to Wii U, I'll pick up the 360 version based on reviews and comparisons.

    25. Stephen Macneil on August 29, 2013

@Brett pretty sure you got it backwards in regards to Bayonetta. The PS3 version got higher scores because the 360 version had slowdown issues. I know because I own the 360 version.

R I P Eternal Darkness, and Shadow of the Eternals. Thou deserves a snug warm grave between Starcraft Ghost and Possession, also Ravensdale. You can also shake hands with other canceled games from your ancestors, such as the Godzilla fighting game and Shadow from the Snes. Absolutely agree with Brett Morehouse

    39. Brett Morehouse on August 25, 2013

Nintendo owns Monolith, so "X" isn't going to appear on PS4 :p

To answer your question, I don't think it will look significantly better on PS4 compared to Wii U. It might look better if I pay look for differences, but I'm much more interested in playing the game. If the game isn't fun but only boasts graphical prowess, I'm not interested.

If code is properly optimized, the developer can deliver the desired aesthetics. I care more about how a game PLAYS than how it LOOKS. The graphics are the decorations on the icing of the cake. In short, a very minor part.

As for "run better", I'm going to have to disagree completely. That has more to do with proper coding than anything else. Which is why problems often carry over in ports or become more prevalent.

Take the original Bayonetta for example. It was built on the 360 and ported to the PS3. It is universally accepted that the 360 version is superior in spite of the PS3 boasting superior specs.

Another point I alluded to, I think Batman Arkham City plays/runs better on Wii U NOT because it has better graphics but because the GamePad improves all elements of gameplay. It's the reason I'm getting Watch_Dogs and Batman Arkham Origins on Wii U instead of PS4 or XBO.

Yes, PS4 and XBO might boast slightly better graphics, but the gap won't be significant. However, the integrated touchscreen GamePad will offer smoother integration and, in my humble opinion, an improved gameplay experience.

Don't get me wrong. I'd like to pick up a PS4 and XBO at some point. They aren't a priority because, well, I'm only interested in roughly five games between them, and I'm hoping two or three also see support on Wii U. Basically leaving exclusives - like inFamous: Second Son (PS4) and Crimson Dragon (XBO) - without false hope and strange fantasy that they see their way multiplat.

    40. Mobin Mobeen on August 25, 2013

@Brett Morehouse I know you right in most of point. But i was amazing at those new PS4 exclusives game. Just like i was with MGS4 with PS3 now that was mind blowing game with great graphic. Monolith's X does have good graphic. Let me ask you I know it won't be on any PS4 but If Monolith's X was running on PS4 do you think it will look better on PS4 or Wii U? That only thing i am saying. The games run better and look better on PS4. It will ran on Wii U but it won't look exactly same while running on PS4 Max Setting.

    45. Brett Morehouse on August 25, 2013

Wii, PS3, and 360 are seventh gen... Wii U, PS4, and XBO are eighth gen. Beside the point, however.

The Wii U utilizes a graphics card and chipset that weren't even dreamed up when the PS3 and 360 were developed. More accurately, it's a GPGPU. It's the most interesting part of the machine, and it really is as close to cutting edge as you can get without pricing it out of the market. While it's CPU isn't as powerful as the PS4 and XBO, it makes up for it by taking over.

There is also a significant gap in graphics between the PS3/360 - as I alluded to. As in, the Wii U is capable of much better draw distances, shaders, and particle effects. As seen in Black Ops II, Arkham City, et cetera. Are the PS4 and XBO more powerful? Yes. With octocore processors, they obviously have higher throughput than a tricore processor, even of similar clock speeds.

What most people forget is that we're seeing LOWER clock speeds than the horrendous CEL processor that PS3 utilized because graphics cards have become more capable.

I have a all seventh gen consoles (Wii, PS3, 360). My favorite game of seventh gen was Xenoblade Chronicles (Wii). I own Arkham Asylum on PS3, and I have Arkham City on Wii U. I know FOR A FACT that Wii U easily blows anything seventh gen out of the water.

Based on what I've seen of known PS4 and XBO exclusives, I'd say the best looking Wii U game shown so far (Monolith's X) proves that graphics are only marginally different from, say, inFamous: Second Son. Now, inFamous: Second Son is the best looking game I've seen trailers of so far, but it most certainly does NOT blow Wii U capabilities out of the water when compared to X or Bayonetta 2.

Also, I only brought up Nintendo picking up SotE because I want ED2. Which can ONLY happen with Nintendo at the helm. You know...because Nintendo owns the Eternal Darkness IP.

    46. Mobin Mobeen on August 25, 2013

@Brett Morehouse Wii U is Ninth gen yes but it really isn't next gen and it is on par with PS3 and Xbox 360 but just little higher graphic card but it is in no way comparing to PS4 or Xbox One because those are more of next gen graphics console. Wii was eight gen but it has low graphic and not bluray or HD drive. Wii U sales isn't doing well when people are focusing on getting either PS4 or Xbox One. If Nintendo were to pick it up and make this to Wii U only then you won't see enough sales as compare to PS4 or Xbox One or PC.

    47. Brett Morehouse on August 24, 2013

      @Mobin Mobeen
Saying the Wii U is not "next gen" is either speaking from a point of ignorance or thinking of ninth gen as next gen. The Wii U, PS4, and XBO are eighth gen consoles all more powerful than seventh gen (Wii, PS3, 360) consoles. Of course, I'm actually speaking from the point of view of a true gamer who owns all the consoles for comparison's sake.

If you need further proof, I'll point you towards Monolith's X and Platinum Games' Bayonetta 2 and their stunning and - in the words of E3 goers - jawdropping graphical prowess.

I wouldn't mind seeing XBO support as long as SotE stays on Wii U. I will only play this game on my console of choice as I believe the GamePad adds greatly to the gaming experience. Like with Batman Arkham City. Which, incidentally, has better shaders, particle effects, and draw distances in the Wii U Armored Edition. Oh, and an amazing control scheme. Hence why I'm getting Arkham Origins on Wii U as well.

Of course, I'm also such an ED:SR fanboy that I'd love to see Nintendo officially pick up this project and make it ED2. Don't see it happening, but I can fantasize.
