About this project
What is the Shweel?
The Shweel is a revolutionary fuel and environment saving airless security wheel with tangential spokes of air cylinders as pneumatic shock absorbers. The tire is low profile urethane foam filed or a solid belt only. Shweel is short for Shocks-in-Wheel. The Shweel has a rigid rim, with a layer of road gripping rubber belt, which is connected to the hub by a series of air-cylinders, acting as air-springs and air-dampers, allowing for large rim-to-hub displacement, which eliminates unsprung weight, transmits torque elastically, absorbs bump impacts and enhances riding comfort. The shocks have ten times more stroke than a conventional tire’s deflection. The Shweel resists bullets, shrapnel, explosions, spikes, sharp rocks and impacts. It does not skid on ice, snow, sand and mud. It reduces rolling resistance, which saves fuel and reduces harmful and greenhouse emissions.
The Shweel can be configured to fit everything from a bicycle all the way up to the biggest heavy equipment tires in the world. The larger and harder working the Shweel, the more economical and environmentally friendly it is.
How the Shweel was born?
The Shweel has come a long way since it was hand-sketched on a napkin as seen below:

How it works?
The main advantages of the Shweel
Firstly, it is airless. No inflated tire means no more flat tire problems and accidents. Secondly, conditional, but certain fuel savings capacity, and capability to ride unharmed over tire-shredders, spikes, glass-debris, sharp rocks and high curbs. Thirdly, roadside bombs, Molotov cocktails, box-cutter sabotage, firearm bullets do not disable the Shweel. Fourthly, it lasts as long as the vehicle does, which means great savings just in tire cost. Fifthly, no unsprung weight translates to savings in maintenance and enhanced comfort of ride. Finally, it acts as a torque limiting flexible coupler with large twist capacity, which virtually eliminates even the possibility of skidding at start and braking, which is a great safety feature.
Why is the Shweel Needed?
The following existing problems call for this new technology:
- Flat tires at high speeds are deadly.
- Inflated tire can be deflated by adversaries, for instance, by crowds at riots.
- Tires can be set to fire by Molotov cocktails.
- Inflated tires can be shot flat by fugitives, criminals or enemies.
- Inflated tires cannot backup over one-way traffic tire shredders.
- Inflated tires limit high speed maneuvering.
- Inflated tires slip in mud, ice and snow, dig in sand, mud and soil, and are risky over debris.
- Inflated tires need expensive replacements frequently.
- Inflated tires do not save, but rather waste fuel.
- Inflated tires can skid on the road and can cause accident killing people.
This new technology offers the following solutions to those problems:
- Eliminates the inflated tire.
- Substitutes it with a gripping layer at most.
- Provides for the lost tire deflection by pneumatic shock absorber stroke.
- Provide large strokes with air-cushioned limit-stop.
- Provide large twist elastic torque coupling, with limit stop.
- Provides for fuel saving capacity at patrol and rush-hour city-traffic speed.
- Enhances lateral stability and stiffness.
- Enhances overturning safety.
- Enhances high speed cornering capability.
- Lowers the vehicular center of mass.
- Reduces the rolling resistance.
- Adds rolling assistance (negative rolling resistance) up to chasing speed.
- Covers the new hi-tech wheels with panzer plates.
- Makes it impossible for adversaries to fidget with the valves.
- Makes the tires fire and bulletproof.
- Makes it stealth to look like inflated tire wheels, not showing to adversaries, what is inside.
- Makes it high impact resistant at high speed to protect emergency rescue airplanes landing safely in the wild.
The Team Behind It?
The inventor and project manager of the shweel is Dr. Kemeny, with 128 patents (issued or pending, most of it licensed) and 10 years academic and 35 years professional background in consulting engineering and in the industry as manufacturer, mostly in Phoenix and Tempe, AZ. He designed numerous bridges, hotels and freeways in Arizona. He issued building permits for a while and wrote the international seismic code with others. He holds high level security clearnces as a government contractor. He holds six pending patents on the shweel. He plan to introduce it for mining trucks, construction and agricultural equipments, where the fuel savings are key issues. No other wheel can save up to 15% fuel, due to elastic hub-to-rim displacement capacity. Wheel chairs and mountain bikes are applications well in the heart of the public. Dr. Kemeny has seven suceesful small businesses all in good standing since 2004, registered in Arizona, Nevada and Delaware. Dr. Kemeny developed the shweel in partnership with Todd Zuccone within Danaus, LLC, an Arizona company since 2011.
Mr. Todd Zuccone has several small and large businesses in The USA and around the world. In his favorite shop, Evolution Motorsports, he built the world record holder, fastest Porsche (215.93 mph) for the An-Albi racing team of the king of Qatar. Mr. Zuccone is a tuning engineer expert, a sport car racer, as well as a car & engine designer and builder. He also believes, that the shweel uniquely solves many daunting problems and has a great future. In fact, the two executives are great enthusiasts of the shweel and other new technologies emerging in the automotive industry.
Danaus LLC has great advisors, including three professors from the Arizona State University. Prof. Dr. Abdel Ra’uf Mayyas, who teaches vehicle dynamics, Prof. Dr. Sangram Redkar, who teaches automotive design, Lecturer Prof. James Contes, who teaches automotive engineering technology in his laboratory at the Dept. of Engineering, College of Innovation at Arizona State University. All three agree on the promising future of the Shweel and contributed to its study and theory. Their Student, Jessie St. Aamand, is another great Shweel enthusiast, helping his professors with LabView analytical works. In particular, they analyzed a peculiar Shweel property, namely its capacity that its hub can move ahead of its rim support, contributing to the driving, which, conditionally contributes to substantial fuel savings, as if the Shweel would roll on grade, even on level road.
Another great enthusiast is, mechanical engineer Mr. Morten Jensen, from Steen Solutions whose SolidWorks drawings and animations speak for themselves. He is also invested in the shweel. Other investors and marketeers are Mr. Peter Kemeny (Marketing Director & Team Organizer) and Mr. Joel Siebetz (Team Leader & Strategy Officer) from Team Shweel.
Our international marketing agent is Mr. Takamori Inugai, who has residences in Oxford, UK, Hague, NL and Tokyo, JP and has high level connections worldwide. We work with great machine shops, including Waltek Industries, AZ.
All these team members are investors in the sense that all work free and provide resources for the shweel development, because all are convinced about its great future, but most of all, that it serves humanity in multiple ways, including providing for energy savings and environmental health of us and the planet.

Risks and challenges
We are inventors, innovators, developers, designers, manufacturers and business people. Each of these roles have their own challenges, pitfalls and rewards. Our team proved its capabilities in many ways. For instance, Todd Zuccone built the world fastest running Porsche (215.93 mph) for the king of Qatar and holds that world record for a long while unchallenged. Dr. Kemeny has over 128 patents in seismic, construction, mechanical and other engineering fields. He has prototyped and licensed more than 2/3-rd of these. His seismic isolators are standard at Boeing, Cisco, Starbucks and all over Japan and installed by millions in the last 20 years. He has several proven automotive engineering patents, currently being licensed. These two entrepreneurs built and tested several Shweels already, yet still learning more everyday regarding this new technology.
Building large Shweel prototypes for mining trucks certainly will be challenging. Our dyno facility can handle pickup trucks and jeeps, but not large trucks and machinery. We will have to farm that out and be on top on it with closed supervision. Yet, the larger is the Shweel, the more efficient it can be. This is in our plan.
The future of the Shweel greatly depends on your support, not only on our capabilities and successes in the past. Some of our projects finished late, some early. It is a safe bet to trust and believe in our projections and wrap this up in a year by licensing the technology to a capable large automotive manufacturer for worldwide introduction, with quick and strong market penetration.
