We all want to do the right thing, and sometimes those are the littlest things! Just think about the water that we waste every day while we wait for the shower to get hot. The average amount wasted is between 3 and 6 liters. Multiply that over everyone and we’re wasting millions of liters of fresh, clean water every day! We want to create a community of water savers. And it all starts with this simple, elegant idea that lets us repurpose that water in all kinds of great ways.
You’ll love your water tote. It captures the cold water while you wait for your shower to get hot. You can then re-use it to water the plans, refill your pet’s water bowl, clean. (Even flush!) It’s also a handy, foldable garden sprinkler. It’s easy to use, and when you don’t need it it folds up nice and compact.
(1) Hang your tote in the shower. (2) Put your flexible shower head into the bag. (3) Fill the bag with the cold water that comes from the shower while you wait for it to heat. When the water’s hot, shut the tap and you’re ready for your shower. (4) You’ve just saved around 3 liters of water — ready for you to use later in the day!
The material used to produce this tote is TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane). It is a top plastic material with qualities like high resilience, good compression set, plus resistance to impacts, abrasions, high level of elasticity, elongation. It’s probably the best plastic material that we found in order to get a long life cycle. Also meets FDA (Food and Drug Administration) requeriments for EEUU. That means also a high price for this material.
We are fortunate to live in a part of the world where, for something comparable with magic, when you need water you simply have to open a tap and voila! It's there. That puts a great responsibility upon us. Spending only the water we need is something we have to raise awareness about. We will all agree on, that wasting water is a bad habit we must change. One day, while telling our children one of those, almost daily, reflections about the importance of water you don't get tired of repeating them. "Spend only what's necessary", "do not open the tap full blast", "use a glass to rinse your mouth after brushing your teeth "," water is life ", One of our kids asked something along the lines of: "Why do we throw that water then? " Oops! The question seemed to make sense, right? We had to do something. Create something different to remember every day, the newfound commitment, but at the same time fun to use and user friendly. We were thrilled by the idea so we shared it with family and friends who were even more enthusiastic than we were. It seemed everyone was aware of the same problem.
Our goal is not just selling a bag that saves water. We want to change a behavior. We want to create a huge water-saving community, a social movement built upon common sense. With people who value important things. For that we will create an app, which will let you know how much water you save each day and how much water we saved all together. It will also offer simple, practical advice on how to do it and it is likely to become sad if you don't save water ☺. Everyone saving water, will be part of a water-savers community. We would like to manufacture a significant number of units and professionalize processes, keep researching and look for the best partners. For that we need the support of each one of you. Help us save water!
Water is a scarce resource. As modern society and as privileged inhabitants of a place called Earth, we believe we have a responsibility. To be aware and appreciate something we are fortunate to enjoy every day. People who purchase this item, share our video or simply tell a friends will contribute to change the world. They will get people thinking about something very important. Many of you may not acquire #WaterDrop, maybe you are already using a bucket, or taking a cold water shower from minute one, or maybe you simply think you do not influence the outcome... but you will. You will think about it and that is already a very important step.
We like the bag’s simplicity. Kids love it, it is an easy to carry and user friendly water can. Everyone congratulates us for how simple it is. But a simple product does not involve a simple and low cost manufacturing process. We have come a long way! We have made mistakes and we have found solutions. We learned a lot. So far, all our energies and financial resources have been allocated to manufacturing one model. The process does not end there, we need a push to study alternative materials, thicknesses and finishes to produce 2 aluminum molds adapted to the new production demands. Another part of your contribution will be devoted to develop an app. to create a water- savers community to gives meaning to the whole project and that will unite all water-savers in the world. For this project we counted with lots of partners -now already friends- who believed in us and our project and gave us, in addition to their love, lots of work hours.
María Beltrán, Amparo Tordera, Encar Ferrando, Max Israel, Eugenia Williezko, Marfil, Sali Pallares, Marta Piquer, Juanma Dapcich, Martín Dapcich, Valentí Acconcia, Cath Board, Luis Iranzo, Nefer Lopéz, Esteban Salvemini...
We are a team of 3 people, hovering our 40 and therefore, some of us already have children. We are, consequently, at a vital moment in which you realize there are things in the world more important than oneself and that the future is something that undoubtedly will come. In the best way possible and applying all the common sense you are able to, you try to educate your children to value the things they can enjoy every day and we certainly all agree, are a gift. A great gift. The gift of water.
We like saying thank you. We feel good when we say it. Apologizing when we're wrong and smiling whenever we can, it's something we love doing. If you read the whole presentation and got this far, thanks for your time. If you also want to take care of our water resources, thank you again. If you will not help but you are going to take a shower with those first litters of cold water, many thanks to you. It will make us very happy if you follow us on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn or Pinterest. Here we offer our rewards.
Risks and challenges
Risks and Challenges
We would like you to have our product at your house on March 22nd the latest, do not forget to book the day! It is Worlds Water Day! We are aware of challenges ahead, it is a bumpy road. We are committed and have a goal. We want to save billions of liters of water every day and we want to count with you, your family and friends. We will have to test product iterations, materials, thicknesses, textures, finishes. All will work perfectly. Once the best material and thickness are chosen, we'll get to make the molds. When everything is perfect, we will manufacture. Our suppliers are aware of the compromise we make with Kickstarter bakers. Nobody will fail. Once the bags are manufactured we will only have to screen print the chosen design and deliver them. We are very excited, we are impatient. If you have any questions or suggestions we will be happy to discuss it with you.
