FalseSTOP! Graphic Novel - Volume 1: Descent
FalseSTOP! is an action-packed, epic story about an Eagle who is trying to find his place in a world where he is not suppose to exist.
Take a Descent into the Tyrantal Fury...
"FalseSTOP!: The Fall of All" (Or also known as "FS!: TFoA" for short) revolves around a concept that has existed as a single question throughout all of society. It's something that defines us as living beings, and represents why we take certain actions, and why we do not. Something that has been around since the beginning of time until the very last second of our lives...
Liberation VS. Preservation
The idea that you could follow a dream, to create yourself freedom, or let it shackle you down. The idea that you could save everyone, or let the world turn on its own, and let everyone fall. This concept can be seen everywhere, from the past to even modern-day society. Everything from Heroic Standpoints to chase after the villain, to saving nature from catastrophic harm, even something as simple as politics... everyone has a side they must pick... but in the end... is it truly, "The right thing to do?" If so, will it follow the rule of "Always has been, always shall be...?"
... In a parallel world to Earth, Gialain, the source of all life, is cosmically connected to Earth. If this planet dies for any reason, the universe will unmake itself in a matter of seconds.
Our Hero, isn't exactly a Hero. Created by the first two deities, "Cyliat" and "Eternal," in an attempt to compensate for their mistake for making weapons of near-infinite power, a being, literally named "False" was created. He was a being made for the sole purpose to protect these legendary weapons. Unfortunately, he was created with a Black Hole for a heart, and for that reason, is not suppose to exist. His desires were different from just protecting a few weapons when he awoke, and because of it, the two deities erased his memory, gave him a new identity, Lawrance Luxzor, a Bald Eagle. Then, he was reborn into Gialain when the time came for him to reawaken back into being.
The two deities know his black hole will corrupt him, but they have no more resources to rely on. Their last hope is to rely on their only wildcard, False. He could turn either way, and the prophecy states, he is not only the one to save them all, but the one to doom them as well. So, there's no telling if he will turn out good or bad. Only time will tell, and they just have to put their faith in the worst gamble. Not to mention, the Black Hole is slowly corrupting his emotions, and it's slowly eating away at him. Each day that passes by, fewer people will see he exists, and eventually, he will become erased from existence. If his 'heart' is torn open, it will eat the entire universe in a matter of seconds.
He's got a little under a year to prevent this Armageddon, and he has to choose between getting his only chance of existing, and letting the world become destroyed, or save it, and accept being erased from existence. All the good guys are after him to destroy his heart from being unleashed and abused by the bad guys, and the bad guys... you guessed it... want to rip his heart open to unleash the apocalypse.
Ontop of that, he doesn't want to follow his prophecy, and just wants to live his mortal-bound life, and fall in love with his unrequited love interest, Heather. Yet, unfortunately, there is no time for him to do so.
As of now, he's got nowhere to run, or hide... He must gather all the legendary weapons or face his and everyone else's doom. Just one year, and his time is up.
Lawrance "False" Luxzor: He's a dark-feathered Bald Eagle who is the storyline's main protagonist. This character has A-LOT of depth to him, and has two split personalities conflicting inside him. Within this novel, he's just graduated college, and is about to have an exciting date with his biggest crush, but everything about the world he know is about to turn inside out, and become framed for everything and anything imaginable the moment he finds his uncle, the Deputy Mayor, dead.
Kero Kiaata: A Deceased Samurai Ghost who wished immortality... and now pays an eternal price by being imbued inside Lawrance's Sword. Truthfully, that's not his real name, but it's the only name he remembers after being stuck inside the sword for around 528 years. Before Lawrance was created into existence, he was a farmhand in the midst of Late Era Japan. He was recruited by Emperor Takumi "Chi Zen" Shirakawa as one of his last 10 imperial guards, and then presented with the "Sanda Doku" or "The Thunder Venom Blade". Kero would find himself traveling to England, and back to Japan. After a series of treacherous and double-crossing events, he fell victim to his own sword. His master would then rename the sword after him, "Kiaata". Several years passed and Kero eventually became the equivalent to a Genie within a lamp... trapped inside the sword forevermore until his next wielder could handle the blade. Kero, Now an immortal spirit within the sword for the rest of his life, he acts as Lawrance's Mentor. He teaches him how to wield Kiaata for the better. However, Lawrance still has to get past two language barriers while he's tutoring in Japanese and Shakespearean English.
Kiaata: The sword itself. One of the many weapons forged by Cyliat and Eternal, this sword the moment you touch the hilt can either kill you, or if you are the 1% that can wield it, can give the wielder near-infinite powers. However, as the name implies, Thunder Venom blade, this sword slowly sucks the life out of it's wielder to harness it's greatest powers. It is the third, most powerful weapon in the universe, and second strongest of the Legendary Weapons.
Charles "Carspikes" Pikes: A Monitor Lizard who tends to contradict every action he takes in hilarious strides. Originally friends with Lawrance when they were younger, over the years, they separated and became enemies. However, after a major upheaval with the town, and a turn of shocking events, he could still prove to be Lawrance's Greatest ally... or his greatest enemy.
He's got the personality of a Jock, and could easily win a fist-fight. He's one of those muscle-bound guys, but he's not dim-witted either like most 'brute' characters (he's surprisingly, quite smart). However, there IS one quirk about him... he's always wearing a tophat, an heirloom from his Late-Father.
Heather Melody: Lawrance's Love interest. She's an honors society student with a Valedictorian and well above average IQ. Through-out the first part of the Graphic Novel, they are actually in a relationship. However, through a twist of horrifying, and tangled events, she dumps him out of no fault of his own.
Tony "Walker" Hawkins: A college drop-out who was named after the Great Tony Hawk, but didn't turn out so great (Coincidentally, guess what animal he is?)
His rebellious attitude and dangerous nature makes him something that is a great nuisance in the town. Pretty much your typical liberal who is pro "hippy-movement," pro welfare, but also is a little conservative about the second amendment. From the graffiti he makes to the stuff he vandalizes, Tony is probably the only reason why Quitona even has a police force. However, he's a part of a bigger conspiracy along with two others characters...
Rydell "Shotgun" Hitch: A Raccoon with a real short temper, and a even quicker violent personality to back him, while being real full of himself. He never use to be this way however...
Rydell use to be Varsity on the Football and Baseball Team, as well as Salutatorian, but was disgraced after falling into the "wrong crowd". After getting his body built-up, his anger and rage lashes out from the lack of emotions he can put together otherwise. He's often seen hanging out with Tony and one other character...
Gusto "Gus" DeKrall: The most spoiled rotten, pain in the butt brat you have ever met. I guess that goes for being a snapping turtle as well.
If he wants something, he will do anything to get it, whether it be beg, borrow, steal, or kill (and when we say borrow, it is a "loose term" for theft as well). He has no regard for emotions, and can be a slight sociopath. Luckily, he hasn't killed anyone....
Here's a small sample of what the Graphic Novel's Pages will look like:

This also means I will go beyond Michigan to distribute the Graphic Novel!
Risks and challenges
Risks... Challenges? HAH! There are NONE!!! (Yeah right, there are)....
Yeah, I hear the crickets on that joke... Trust me, there are risks and challenges...
I am going to say right now, this is my first Kickstarter. However, I am no stranger when it comes to publishing deadlines, seeing as I have sat down, and made artwork for two previous publications. First one I did was a college publication, and the second one was a digital indi publishing company that dropped my publication in-favor of something "more trendy, hip, and what today's audience wants." (Yeah, that kinda bummed me out)...
I do know that I am going to try and self-publish this one (seeing that this project is pretty much my baby, and I have been working on it for 20 years now), but hense why the project goal is $3,000. Calculatively speaking, this is bare bones minimum to fund the project, achieve my dream, and not receive any profits for myself (plus, needless to say, self-publishing is quite expensive).
I've also heard stories from Sam Eggleston and Jay DeFoy about delayed self-publishing companies, and the orders not arriving on-time. I'm sure this shouldn't happen... but just incase it does, I will send out an extra little reward for everyone to have.
Also, I will be not only making the art for the Graphic Novel, but I will also be programming the videogame too, which means I have alot of work ahead of me... but also making all my own sprites and art for it will prove as well to be rather difficult.
The other final challenge is my Digital Colorist, and Letterer, he and his girl are going to be having a baby in October, so making sure everything is all drawn up and made between me and him before October could get a bit tricky... but it shouldn't hold us back if we are making perfect progress on this the project.
We will begin progress on the Graphic Novel itself the moment the project is fully-fantastically-fledged and funded!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
