So what IS Late Late Breakfast?
In its live incarnation, Late Late Breakfast is the perfect comedy show for a weird Saturday afternoon. Hosted and co-created by lovable scamps and Chicago comedians Tyler Jackson and Danny Maupin, Late Late Breakfast is a fast-paced mixed-format stand-up show that the Chicago Reader has simply called "Chaos."
Each show is a wildly different experience and features comedians telling jokes while facing randomized themed challenges. These could be anything from having an impromptu puppet show or pie fight, to having the comedians star in a full-on Easter pageant or taking the whole audience outside for a game of baseball in the street.
Basically, audiences can expect anything and everything out of the ordinary, all of it held together by solid, hilarious stand-up comedy.
Our show has been featured on the New York Comedy Festival (2015), The Comedy Exposition (2014 and 2015), Memphis Comedy Festival (2015 and 2016), Orlando Indie Comedy Fest (2014 and 2015), Green Gravel Comedy Fest (2016), 10,000 Laughs Fest (2015) and Hell Yes Fest (2015).
Our live Chicago show is typically held the first Saturday of every month at The Hideout, and the last Saturday of every month in New York City at The Creek and The Cave. Our NYC branch is hosted by comedians Peggy O'Leary and Lindsay Boling!
We believe Late Late Breakfast would be a great fit for television and having a great looking pilot to pitch is a crucial first step towards that goal! If we can take our show to television, the possibilities for showcasing comedians under hilarious circumstances are truly endless!

Dang that’s cool! What exactly is all this money going towards?
ALL the funds go directly to the following:
- Paying our professional camera crew
- Renting equipment for the shoot ie: lights, cameras, lenses, sound, etc.
- Post-production necessities like editing the pilot, color correction, audio mastering, etc.
- A professionally designed/animated intro/opening for the pilot
- Covering the travel expenses for the 5 comedians we have booked for the pilot filming
- Any unforeseen expenses such as renting extra equipment, or food for the crew, etc. Bigger and more extravagant games (rentals, supplies, etc.)
Makes sense! How will the pilot be structured?
You're a smart question-asker. We are envisioning a half-hour pilot. We have booked 5 top comedians from around the country who will each be playing two rounds of games. This is to ensure we get enough footage to edit from. When the pilot moves into post-production, we will choose the best game that each comedian played and edit from there. We also plan to have a cold open for the show. The pilot will be filmed at The Hideout in Chicago in front of a live audience.
Wow you guys have been working hard on this! But what is your PLAN for the pilot once it’s filmed?
GREAT QUESTION and it’s the question we get asked the most! And thank you, we HAVE been working super hard!!! We will be submitting our pilot to the New York Television Festival as well as setting up meetings with a few network contacts that we have been put in touch with. We truly believe in our show, care a lot about it, and can’t wait to pitch the pilot. We have an incredibly unique concept that audiences all over the country have loved and the show would only get bigger and better on television! We hope to make some comedy history!
