PROJECT UPDATE VIDEO! (MONEY MATTERS)
HOW DO WE MAKE IT?
Using the high powered tool of Google as a tractor beam, we searched the entire market for choice meats (Grass Fed, Free Range, Non-GMO, and Hormone and Antibiotic Free) to create the tastiest jerky out there, and combined it with superior quality dried fruits and nuts. We have partnered with leaders in quality assurance and ethical companies to produce a deceptively simple product - believe us when we tell you there were a fair share of obstacles along the way.
Simply put, Meat N Nuts sources the finest beef and free range chicken to its jerky facility, where an artisan marinating and curing process turns it into a full line of flavorful jerkies. That jerky is then sealed and shipped to be packaged with our original blends of almonds, cashews, walnuts and dried fruit. Let's get to those flavors....
Honey Sriracha Beef Jerky Trail Mix
This tantalizing jerky is made using the dynamic spice of a garlicky, peppery sriracha sauce, which we blend with the sweetness of honey, and then combine that with America’s three favorite nuts: almonds, cashews and walnuts. To balance the heat, we've added dried cranberries to make for a bangin' mix of Sweet and Spicy.
Cracked Black Pepper Beef Jerky Trail Mix
Are you a fan of original jerky? A tough guy or gal who likes it simple? Forget the sweet stuff and get ahold of our Cracked Black Pepper Beef Jerky. This is a flavor your Great Great Grandad, who ran the old west with the speed of his trigger finger, could get behind.
Buffalo Style Chicken Jerky Trail Mix
Put down the Chicken Wyngz and Corn Nuts and pick up Buffalo style Meat N Nuts Chicken Jerky Trail Mix. Our flagship chicken flavor sets sail on your taste buds, starting with the buffalo-style heat we all know and love before charting a course to the tangy, exotic destination of Port Mango. In other words: This mix of our signature nut trio, dried mango, and buffalo chicken jerky is delicious and packed with energy!
So You Guys Are, Like, Serious About This?
We have fun with our brand, but we are very serious about Meat N Nuts. This project has been our focus for two years, and we are extremely excited to bring you our Kickstarter so that we can launch our product successfully! Meat N Nuts has already been produced for taste testing and generated a devoted following among fitness junkies and foodies alike in New York, LA and our hometown. We know that there are many more people out there seeking high-quality tasty jerky as a superior complement to their boring old trail mix and would be more than happy to supply them with our product. That's where you come in.
With this Kickstarter, we're raising funds to start our FIRST MAJOR PRODUCTION RUN. Your support will impact how quickly MEAT N NUTS can be in a store near YOU!
We have spent months and months calling and meeting ranchers, suppliers, producers, agencies, etc in order to put the following key components in place:
1. Sources have been determined for our Grass Fed Beef and our Free Range Chicken, which are both free of hormones and antibiotics. Our meat is given constant access to pastures that provide a true natural diet. We're confident you'll feel the difference in both taste and nutrition.
2. Meat N Nuts will ship with three delicious jerky flavors that are free of MSG, Sodium Nitrates and Gluten. We also use honey as a sweetener/preservative, and feature America's favorite spicy flavors.
3. We've partnered with a prestigious, well-respected, jerky producer and meat suppliers. With your support, we'll be able to produce our innovative snack food on a significant scale, and at a relatively low price per bag!
4. We are well on our way to developing an eye-catching and engaging brand to accompany our outstanding flavors. In conjunction with a USDA approved label we will be able to proudly display our claims and certifications. Our priority is to provide a product of the highest nutritional quality.
5. By reaching our stretch goals we will be able to speed up the process of production and make Meat N Nuts available nationwide.
May: Launch Kickstarter and create online buzz around our new product. We would love if our dedicated backers would share, tweet or email our kickstarter link: http://kck.st/QwpCob -- to their friends, family and colleagues.
Late May: Fully funded Kickstarter with your help and support!
June-July: Begin finalization on branding design/concepts which will allow us to finalize label requirements with the USDA. At this time we will also begin to secure some smaller retail accounts in the western half of the United States.
August: Purchase finalized bags and make the first test run batch of Meat N Nuts three incredible flavors at our co-packing facility.
September: Utilizing our remaining funds we will begin full production on Meat N Nuts and fulfill all of our rewards that include product purchases!
October Onward: With gorgeous new bags, a delicious and healthy product, and a great message, Meat N Nuts will be poised to flood the national market with an amazing snack.
OH YEAH, REWARDS:
With your support, we will have created this product together...
How Will We Invest Your Money?
BASIC GOAL $25,000 - We are seeking this amount as our basic goal in order to fully develop everything that goes into making the final product. This is trickier than it sounds, so buckle up:
In order to package our product we need to rehearse production techniques, conduct necessary food science testing, verify important health claims, register our recipes, compile certifications, update the brand to include our full product line, file for label approval with the USDA, demonstrate that our packaging and production facilities are compliant, and finally purchase and print our bags for our First Run of Production.STRETCH GOAL #1 $50,000 - Once we've achieved our goal of
$25,000 in funding, we'll look to double that amount in order to acquire the ingredients for each beautiful, shelf-ready bag. We will also be putting our efforts into developing constructive relationships with gyms, independent grocers, farmer's markets and coffee shops to begin the early stages of distribution.
STRETCH GOAL #2 $100,000 - Our final stretch goal of $100,000 in funding is to launch our product in as many major stores as possible (Whole Foods, Costco, Safeway, etc) so that we can become a respected brand nationwide! Meat N Nuts will then be able to finalize two new recipes as well as launch our JUST THE MEAT line of products! If we can reach $100,000 together, Meat N Nuts will have successfully created a responsible, healthy, and fun snack food company dedicated to becoming your favorite snack.

Risks and challenges
Meat N Nuts, while simple, has always been a revolutionary product. With processed meat (jerky) ruled by the USDA, and nuts requiring adherence to FDA guidelines, few facilities across the country can even safely produce Meat N Nuts. So many of our supporters have asked "Why can't you sell this at the farmer's market?!"
The Answer is simple: FSIS/USDA Label Requirements
A major risk following our fundraiser would be DELAY in our label coordination and application. You and I and a babe born yesterday night knows that jerky and trail mix together in a bag or in your mouth does not lead to instant combustion. Furthermore, jerky trail mix is extremely stable, capable of lasting for years if stored properly. Nonetheless, it takes a significant amount of lab testing, analysis, and organization to button it all up. Once filing, we are at the whim of the Federal Government. There is always a chance we may be conditionally rejected and need to tweak our design and display of information in order to reapply.
With $25K Meat N Nuts Still Has to Fundraise for Ingredients
We are preparing as a company to conduct additional fundraising in order to levy our approved label, flavors, and brand - along with your help! - to subsidize a full production run. Following a successful campaign we may need to dedicate serious effort in getting over the hump and getting our product out the door. We hope you will consider helping us "meat" our stretch goal!
Meat N Nuts Contains Meat and Allergens
While we have taken great care and attention to omit what we find to be unacceptable flavors and techniques (MSG, nitrates, granulated sugar), we are not a product for vegetarians, vegans, or those allergic to tree nuts.
Meat N Nuts is a Choking Hazard
Leaving the puns to you, know that without proper mastication of one's Meat N Nuts, the consumer is vulnerable to respiratory blockage. So please, remember chewing is part of enjoying!
