I am invited to present at the Subtle Technologies Festival this May 24-27. I am looking for funding to support my travel expenses.

Dear Possible Funders,

I am asking you for your help to fund my travel expenses for me to present my art and thesis paper titled "Embodying Symbiosis: A Philosophy of Mind in Drawing" at the Subtle Technologies Festival this May 24-27th in Toronto, Canada.

For 15 years Subtle Technologies has been bringing people together to promote wonder, incite creativity and spark innovation across disciplines. The symposium, performances, workshops, screenings, exhibitions and networking sessions provide a forum to explore ideas and pose questions at the intersection of art, science and technology. Subtle Technologies is known internationally for presenting work by artists and scientists at the leading edge of their respective disciplines. The festival will be held throughout different venues in Toronto. Please visit their website for more information:

Since I am not eligible for most travel grants at this time, I have turned to you for your support.  This is my first opportunity that I have had to do something like this.  I am honored at the chance and really do hope I can make this possible with your help.

If you donate to my fund, I will send you an original artwork dusted with local Bay Area wild mushroom spores. This piece is connected to my ongoing Symbiosis State project from which I started in 2009.

Thank You for Your Support!

Sincerely  ~  Amber Stucke
