Turn The Tidy Dog on for a quick cleanup session or leave it on for continual cleanup! The Tidy Dog trains, stimulates and feeds your dog!
How does it work?
The Tidy Dog's smart sensors detect the weight of a toy when it is added to the bin. If a toy is added, the Tidy Dog dispenses a treat. The Tidy Dog's software knows the difference between a toy that has been added to the bin and a dogs nose that is shuffling around in the bin looking for their favorite toy! If your dog removes a toy from The Tidy Dog it will wait 30 seconds before your dog can place the toy back in the bin for a treat. If your dog puts the toy back in the bin within the 30 seconds, no treat is dispensed and the timer is then removed allowing your dog to continue cleaning up!
When I started training my dog Evie to pick up her toys, I wanted to find a way to get her to put them away without having to tell her all the time. My very first prototype was a desktop candy dispenser. It was like a hand motion soap dispenser, only it dispensed candy. I pulled the motion sensor out and mounted it in Evie's toy bin. Then I filled the candy dispenser with kibble. That was the first of many prototypes that have now become The Tidy Dog.

How does Kickstarter work?
You donate at one of the levels on the right column.

If we don't reach our goal, the project is cancelled and you are not charged for your donation. Help us spread the word and make sure The Tidy Dog is a success!
We are finished designing The Tidy Dog. We are also finished sourcing and quoting all components for The Tidy Dog. Our injection mold manufacturer has approved our design for a first production prototype run. Our electronics manufacturer is queued up and ready to start fulfilling our order as well. We will be assembling and fulfilling orders with the help of a local manufacturing partner. If we are successfully funded we will order all of the components for your Tidy Dog and it will be assembled in Cleveland, Ohio. We are on schedule to ship orders this Fall!
How can you help?
We have designed, tested and redesigned over the past year. We are now ready for manufacturing ramp up and we need your help!
You can help by sharing our Kickstarter page on Facebook and all of your social networks. Know anyone who would love to have The Tidy Dog? Email them a link to our Kickstarter page and spread the word!
If we are lucky enough to get funded the funding will go towards production tooling and order fulfillment! We will need to pay for expensive injection mold tooling to make the plastic components and minimum purchases from our suppliers.

How to train your dog to clean up!
Risks and challenges
Launching a product has many challenges. We are not finished with The Tidy Dog project and there is much work to be done including creating injection molds, final assembly and filling orders.
If The Tidy Dog gets funded we will use our experience, skills and the right manufacturers to make sure Tidy Dogs are shipping on time. Our team has a diverse and professional background in engineering, product sourcing and manufacturing. We will keep our backers informed with every detail along the way and work as hard as we can to make The Tidy Dog a reality!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
The Tidy Dog dispenses a small amount of kibble when your dog puts a toy away. The Tidy Dog can be turned on at the end of the day for a quick cleanup session. The Tidy Dog can also be left on during the day for continuous cleanup.
The Tidy Dog has two main features to prevent your dog from tricking it into dispensing treats.
1. The Tidy Dogs load cells can detect the very small vibrations that occur if your dog is pressing down on the bin. The Tidy Dog will not dispense a treat until the load cells completely stabilize.
2. Also, when a toy is removed from the bin, the bin sets a timer for 30 seconds. The bin is basically giving your dog time to play with the toy. After the 30 seconds your dog is free to drop the toy back into the bin for a treat. If your dog drops the toy back in within the 30 seconds, no treat is dispensed, but the timer then goes away so your dog is free to pick up the rest of their toys for a reward.
