Hi, all-

We're hearing that our campaign's purpose is unclear and needs to be boiled down to a few words to get through to a distracted, tech-addicted social media-devouring audience.

This project isn't a wearable high tech gadget. I'm offering a complicated solution to an even more complicated social problem -- and I'm struggling mightily in the 'short & sweet' department. Thoughts? Feedback? Is this context helpful? I added this to the campaign story today - but I'm not sure if it's a clarifying improvement or merely further complication.

JUNKET & BEYOND: WHERE WE'RE GOING

We're the only species on the planet who actively impedes our own best chances of survival, and I can't help but think that we'd make better decisions if we had better information and better choices. Within this context, I've been using Junket as a lab of sorts to test ideas, gauge response, and ask questions.

The November election results were a powerful catalyst to share what I've learned. We've got to reverse a disturbing trend, quickly, and we clearly can't expect the government to do it for us.

We've already begun the technical work of developing a supply chain solution for reused items. This supply chain would help reuse stores (including Junket) compete with mass retail in terms of convenience and assortment. Further, it would enable widespread adoption of the most sustainable goods possible: those that already exist.

We want to continue to improve Junket's consumer-oriented, emissions-neutralizing model in lockstep with this critical technical development.

JUNKET & JULIE: WHY YOUR SUPPORT MATTERS

During the last four and a half years, I've invested countless hours and several hundred thousand dollars into this socially beneficial retail model, free community events, MinneMile development & promotion, free donuts & coffee, developing an environmentally-informed perspective, and developing an executable social response to climate disruption. I've also spent the last six months preparing to lead the charge.

With this campaign, I am asking - point blank - for a return on this extended investment.

I'm one person running both shows, and it has become clear that doing what needs to be done (with respect to running the shop and developing the supply chain) would make it impossible for me to be the parent I want to be for Meridel. She deserves more of my time and attention, and I want to enjoy more of hers.

The shop matters. Her future matters more.

This campaign will give the shop a much-needed cushion so I can take a strategic risk in creating new (living wage) jobs at Junket and lock in a product assortment that could simplify your transition to an exponentially more sustainable lifestyle.

Completing this quickly will make it possible for me to pivot out of a retail operations role and more fully into an emerging strategic one without shortchanging my family life.

Expected results: exponentially more social impact, improved retail experience, and an even stronger anchor supporting an increasingly vibrant commercial corridor in a lovely neighborhood that many of us call home.
