I earned my PhD in Astrophysics in 2009. My research interests involve the characterization of exoplanet host stars through empirical methods. I also work on modeling data from the Kepler space telescope for the Planet Hunters citizen science project (planethunters.org). I am the lead author of the discovery paper "Where's the Flux?" which investigates the highly unusual light curve of KIC 8462852, a star that has since been colloquially named Tabby's Star in my honor.
