A prototype is a preliminary model of something. Projects that offer physical products need to show backers documentation of a working prototype. This gallery features photos, videos, and other visual documentation that will give backers a sense of what’s been accomplished so far and what’s left to do. Though the development process can vary for each project, these are the stages we typically see:
Proof of Concept
Explorations that test ideas and functionality.
Demonstrates the functionality of the final product, but looks different.
Looks like the final product, but is not functional.
Appearance and function match the final product, but is made with different manufacturing methods.
Appearance, function, and manufacturing methods match the final product.
More people are getting fit than ever, which is awesome!
But...that means people are carrying more with them while they get fit.
That means a higher likelihood of knocking over a bottle, losing something, or stepping on something...
It also means more germs from sweat that could get all over your gear, and that never sounds good...
Fortunately, we have a solution for both! Introducing...
The FitMate (patent pending, final patent under review, trademark pending) is an all in one portable device that can hold everything from water bottles to stretch bands while you workout. Stick it to a mirror or smooth wall, hang it from a fence or a rail, place it on the floor or other flat surface.
After several years of designs, prototypes, redesigns, new prototypes...finally, we are ready to bring The FitMate to the world.
The FitMate is made of molded plastic too keep it lightweight, yet sturdy.
It has an opening large enough for the biggest water bottles, a hook for towels, keys and more, and a cell phone holder big enough to hold the largest smart phones.
It will stick to almost any smooth surface thanks to the large suction cup, has an arm for carrying, and a hook on top to hang it when no flat surface is available.
The FitMate came into being one day when I was at the gym, carrying my stuff as usual. I placed everything on the floor to work out. Somehow, after a set on a machine, I reached for my water and the bottle top popped open, spilling water onto the towel and as I was going to pick them up, more water splashed out and landed (you guessed it) on my phone.
Fortunately, the phone was fine and I cleaned up my area as I internally scolded myself. I looked around the gym and it seemed everyone was keeping their things together the same way I was.
My next thought was really simple: It would be awesome if I had something I could keep all my gear on while I worked out so I wouldn't knock everything over or lose things.
Carry The FitMate with you using the curved arm and handle at the top.
Hang The FitMate on a smooth surface like a wall, mirror or glass with the suction cup!
Use the top hook to hang The FitMate on things like handrails, fences or gym equipment.
The closer it is, the faster you can access your accessories while you get fit!
Your donations will go towards your early-bird purchase of one or more of your very own The FitMate.

Risks and challenges
We are setting out to give everyone the only accessory holder they will ever need for when they are getting fit.
That being said, we also know that this process can be long and arduous.
We have done extensive research, working with our designer, mold manufacturer, product maker, logo maker etc. We want to be able to go right to production as soon as possible, and to stay on top of (we hope) a large number of orders from launch.
The FitMate will be made in the USA. This includes the molding process, sonic welding of the two halves of The FitMate, the addition of the suction cup, pin, springs and knob, the boxing and then shipping. We believe this will cut down on time of manufacture to getting the product in your hands substantially.
And the company we are working with has been in business a long time, doing business with huge corporations like Boeing and Lockheed on jet parts, all the way down to start-ups just like ours.
We’ve done our very best to forecast demand and create a solid production plan. However, sometimes forecasts don’t always hit the mark. Should we miss projections, we’ll let you know why and make it right as quickly as possible.
NOTE: The version of The FitMate seen in our video and promo materials is a 3D printed version, and the final version will have a higher sheen in color to it in both the black and red versions.
Supply Chain Risk:
We’ve spent the last two years doing our best to be ready for this launch. However, component delays and unexpected shortages can occur. If this happens, we’ll be sure to keep you informed and work to quickly solve the problem.
Terms and Conditions:
Backers with EU shipping addresses will be responsible for paying duties and taxes at the time of shipping.
