Welcome to Wax Off, a quasi-annual art show showcasing some of the finest artists from Australia and around the globe, all connected by surf culture. This year we’re embarking on the production of our second ever zine featuring artists from our upcoming shows in Byron Bay & Torquay, and we need your hard earned cash to help make it happen.

Wax Off started out in 2009 when Xavier convinced a few buddies, all connected to surfing and making art, that it would be a good idea to pool their talents and hold a group show at a local gallery. The reaction was fantastic, attracting art lovers and surfers alike and inspired a fairly regular gathering at various venues, locally and abroad, adding another chapter to surf art's rich history. Wax Off has always been proud to operate as a non-profit initiative.

The main monkeys behind the Wax Off collective are (Curators and artists) Xavier Davies and Tom Milledge, but none of this has been, or will be possible without the help of our artists mates and families.
This time around we are turning up the volume on Wax Off with an ambitious attempt to bring together our regions surf inspired creatives - with original artwork produced as part of a surf style zine - In fact being volume number 2 after our self funded 2012 comic.

Risks and challenges
Curating and working with our pals is what we love - connecting with artists, organising and executing this project will be on us. And while that role is difficult to measure in dollar amounts - there are other areas that are easier, having previously forked out for issue 1 of our garage style comic a few years back we understand a lot about what is involved (hopefully less personal financial pain this time) The artwork from each artist has already been submitted, so the majority of the project at the creative end is complete.
Postage and handling - It's going to be a challenge to get the mag out to everyone if we're successful but we're up to it, We're fully committed to handwriting 100's of postage addresses if that's what it takes to get our work to you!
We plan to distribute rewards as soon as we get the green light on funding. Some rewards will be available immediately. Zine printing we are undertaking locally and are assured can be turned around quickly. Tee Shirts and stickers 2-4 weeks also. We will aim to have everything out by Christmas and will be trying our hardest to nail this.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
