Help me fulfill my dream: Rosier's Wandcrafting
My name is Sara, and I love Harry Potter. Now I'm sure you'll scoff a bit when I tell you this, but what I want to do is to become a wandcrafter.
When I was younger, I was really into Harry Potter: robes, brooms, etc. Well, where is a witch or wizard without his wand?
What I want to do is create. I want to carve wands for everyone. Literally everyone. I think a lot of people feel powerless. They see horrible things on the news everyday, and very few people are in a position to change anything. I know that everyone is important. Everyone matters. Everyone has their own magic.
I want to create wands to remind people of their inner power. That despite the fact that the world is harsh, you don't have to let it bring you down. That everyone has an inner strength, they just have to let it out.
Should you decide to donate to my project, I will immediately get the materials I need for starting. First, I plan to purchase a good lathe, one that will last for many years of wandcrafting. I also will need to get a few sets of woodworking tools and the proper safety equipment.
As a way to give back, I plan to donate a substantial amount of my earnings to the Harry Potter Alliance (thehpalliance.org), a group of progressively minded individuals who work to make sustainable changes to community and to the world.
I hope you see the need for a little bit of magic in the world, and so I hope you decide to help fund my project.
Risks and challenges
With this particular project, I have little risk of setback. Where it is craft work, I have the ability to work as long as necessary. I do have a family to keep, so I might have a slight delay from day to day, but I believe my goals are realistic enough to allow a bit of extra time should it be necessary.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
