I have been working on a children's book series titled "Growing Up Gracie" where young children will follow Gracie throughout her life as she grows older! While she is growing up, your children will grow with her and have the chance to experience life together! Gracie can become a child's best friend all while having the opportunity to help children go through childhood.
I have researched the amount of money needed for a project like this, and it has been said that it can cost up to $2,500-$3,000 just to have one book looked at and edited. Since I would like to go ahead with a full series, any little bit will help to get my idea off the ground and running!
Once I reach my goal, I will search for the right editors and proofreaders to take a look at the first book of the "Growing Up Gracie" series, which is titled "Gracie and the Lost Christmas Gift." This story will have children and their parents enjoying a tale of a little girl who must find her way to the mysterious person who dropped their Christmas gift near her in a large crowd. As the story continues, children will learn the importance of the Christmas holiday and how amazing it feels to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Risks and challenges
A risk I am taking by trying to go ahead with my idea of publishing a children's book, is simply having it rejected the first, second, or even third time around. Since it costs so much to have it looked at even one time, I sincerely hope this does not happen. But, if I am lucky enough for this to work, I can continue with my other books, which will be a challenge but a fun one at best! I know that publishing these books can create a wonderful world for children who can find a best friend in Gracie!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
