WE DID IT!
We hit our minimum goal of $15,000! Wow! We love our backers!
Now we've got some "stretch" goals.
Bringing a spectacular new musical to life the right way costs a lot of money! This isn't Broadway (yet!), where capitalization amounts can reach tens of millions of dollars, but there are lots of amazing people to pay, things to buy, and stuff to rent. Here's how that all breaks down...
WELCOME TO EMOJILAND
Emojiland is a brand new musical about emojis living inside a smartphone. It's part comedy, part tragedy, but all emoji. We first had the idea to make an emoji musical in May 2014, right around when Apple turned on the iPhone emoji keyboard by default... over a year before "The Emoji Movie" was announced. Some people get confused about that, so now you know!
"BUT IS IT ANY GOOD?"
Social media says it best...!
This is us!
And this is the show!
Here's where we've been...
And here's where we're headed!
THEATRE IS A TEAM SPORT
Our cast, crew, and team are total pros, and wonderful people too!
TICKETS! GET YOUR TICKETS!
Whether you can pledge or not, we'd love for you to see the show! That's the whole point! Info below... or just CLICK HERE.
SHARING IS CARING
If you've gotten this far, love what you see, but can't afford to pledge right now, that's totally cool! The old "sharing is caring" adage holds true here – we want everyone to know about Emojiland – and you never know which one of your friends or followers might be our next backer!
Just share the link www.emojiland.com/kickstarter and voila! Instant superhero <3
We're so excited to share Emojiland with the world, and with you!
Risks and challenges
Combining every dollar of our own money we can spare, with generous donations from private individuals, we have already raised $20,000 of the total $120,000 needed to fully produce Emojiland at NYMF.
We are dedicated to this project. And contracted with the festival. The show must go on... and so it will! That we can promise you.
What happens after NYMF is anybody's guess. Theatre is a risky endeavor... which is why we've been working on the show for four years before taking a leap this big. We have high hopes that this production will delight audiences and critics alike, leading to an extended run soon thereafter.
Meanwhile, let's make some emoji magic this summer!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
