I film NZ live bands. Been doing it for about 3 years now. Sometimes I'm lucky enough to get some cash from people for my filming and editing, but more often than not I just do things for free because I like to help people like myself - kiwis in struggling bands. I supply all the gear myself and am a self contained filming, editing, audio mastering and rendering machine... but as there is little financial gain in my endeavour, I have found myself without the funds to replace damaged equipment - In particular the "drum cam" camera which has died recently.
I'm heading to Japan later in the year and plan to do some shopping there for my equipment... cameras are the latest tech, and much much cheaper than in NZ... I plan to hopefully raise enough to get two similar cameras to be able to have one as a backup, or to be used for a 5th alternative angle should the need arise (filming big stages for example).
But I need your help. The filming benefits many people and bands, but I can't cover all the costs single handed. If you can spare anything from $5 to $50 to help me get the gear to get back on track filming local bands, it would be a huge help. I've filmed over 100 bands in the past 3 years - most for free. If you have enjoyed the work I've done, please give what you can to show your support. I'll do the rest :) Thanks very much.
Risks and challenges
The only real obstacle is not meeting the $500+ point. If it is less, the fundraiser will fail. If it surpasses $500, the videos will continue to flow. Simple as that.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
