Mission Accomplished!

Great success! We've reached our initial funding goal! A huge thanks from the entire team to everyone who has backed thus far. We're still a few days out and we've got some meaty stretch goals to aim towards so we'll be continuing with our update schedule. We still have to introduce you to the Assassin Agent and we have a few surprise updates up our sleeves, so stay tuned!

PayPal Coming Soon...

You've all gone way too fast for us! We were in the midst of getting the PayPal pledging ready to launch BEFORE we reached our goal but you've beaten us to the punch. We're still working on it and will have it up and running very soon!

Now I feel silly worrying about whether or not this would get funding in the past week. It's great to see Aussie Devs back in the spotlight after these past few years, especially working on a successor to such an influential and woefully neglected series. Also was that Russel Shaw doing the Mission Accomplished music? If so I'm gonna love this soundtrack. Merry game... makering... for the next year, can't to see what you guys come up with!

      @seumas £415,000 says you're wrong!

    3. Creator 5 Lives Studios on July 26, 2013

@seumas, here's why I think you might be wrong.

We have 60,000 views of our kick starter video, and 13000 backers.

That's a conversion rate of 21% which is astronomical.

Had we overpriced I think we would have seen a far lower conversion rate.

Also we get a ton of email feedback out of literally thousands of emails not one has said they won't back us because we are overcharging.

I know we made a lot of mistakes but I don't believe the price of the game was one of them.

      MikeD.

    4. Jean Rothen on July 25, 2013

I believe that a lot of backers have raised the pledge not once but twice. If 35... 40 dollars is the price of a dream, why not? Actually it's a cheap price for what we hope and right now some of us are going back to the original Syndicate thinking what is about to come. And it's great. Congratulations guys. It's alive!

    5. WP - Member, Mutant League on July 25, 2013

Congratz, looking forward what you can do with this funding,
inb4 cd projekt red cyberpunk I hope :)

    6. Jan Ingolf Nielsen on July 25, 2013

      Congratulations, guys! Well deserved.

    7. Nico Hartto on July 25, 2013

Everything is looking great so far. Only thing that worries me, is the omission of cooperative mode. The stretch goal is quite far away, and it would have been great to have it in Satellite Reign.

Playing those old Bullfrog Syndicate -series games, I always thought that it would be so great if I could have a friend or two playing with me. I understand that this is a big, great, even bigger, hurdle for a small team to tackle, but I hope cooperative mode could be introduced as an expansion/DLC or maybe at lower stretch goal?

Seumas - at least in the projects I have backed so far the 'early bird' limited tiers were priced at $20. $25 and $30 are the lowest digital-copy "unlimited" Tiers.
      Let me provide examples :
Torment: Tides of Numenura - most funded game project - $20 limited edition Tier, $25 unlimited lowest dig
Project Eternity - second most funded game project $20 limited early bird tier, $25 unlimited lowest digital copy
Shroud of the Avatar - $25 was the lowest limited tier.. $40 was the lowes unlimited
Star Citizen which collected $12 MILLION so far has $30 as a lowest tier that you get a game and it was a limited number tier

So IMO $25 is not a rare price point and is completely acceptable. However everybody is free not to risk and buy at higher price on release.

    9. Hans Bennink on July 25, 2013

My congratulations to all of you for reaching the goal you had in mind. Now, can it be possible to reach the half a million in the remaining days?

    10. Seumas Froemke on July 25, 2013

It's a real shame about that price point. $25 USD for a level that includes a copy of the game. While I was willing to part with that for this risk, most people will not be. That is a very rare price-point. Even the popular well-known franchises from known studios with known people on the project promising huge experiences are usually $10 to $15 USD. If this had a $15 USD price-point, you would have blown so far past your goals.

Unfortunately, I see a lot of projects with the attitude that they have to "hold on to everything" as if by giving it at a lower price than you'll eventually sell it for, you're somehow losing money. In reality (as proved-out by Steam's sales, in fact) you would get much more by going fairly lower priced. Remember, this isn't the price you're selling your game at. This is the price you are LURING FUNDING OF THE GAME AT.

Sort of cutting off their nose to spite their face.

    11. Chris Doak on July 25, 2013

@Michael There's a very good chance we'll hit destructible environments with the help of PayPal contributions.

    12. Liviu on July 25, 2013

      @Dipree There are 3 more days :) I hope we reach 500k :D

    16. Bartosz Branecki on July 25, 2013

Yaaaay! So happy to see this happen :-)
@Sven H: I'll do just that right now too.

    17. George Arcus Johnston on July 25, 2013

Awesome! Well done everyone :D I'll add my voice for co-op multiplayer, BRING IT ON!

    18. Sven H. on July 25, 2013

Should this trend continue, then every second backer would just have to up their pledge by 5£ (or 8$) and we have a winner for destructible environments. I will do this just now. I want to see those walls collapse! :)

Congrats again from good ol' Europe.

    19. Michael Zautner on July 24, 2013

Well, we've blown by the goal fairly nicely now. Looks like we'll get Shaw fairly easily. Kicktraq has us trending to about 420k, which is only a bit shy of the 440k that most people are hoping for with the destructible environments, and given that kicktraq had us trending to around only 360k a day or two ago, seems like that should be makeable if we can keep up the pace. Multiplayer co-op? I'd love it, but we'd need to basically double in the last 4 days here. I won't hold my breath, but I'll hope real hard. I'd add more, but I've already tapped out my gaming budget for the next half year or so on this :P

    20. Steven Meyer on July 24, 2013

Is it possible for the Brisbane/Qld backers to visit the studio at some point?

    21. Aaron VIII on July 24, 2013

Congratulations! Now to ahem PERSUADE some citizens to part with those extra bucks... I want multiplayer and destroyable cities so badddd

@Nathan that's just the usual curve for a KS. Huge jump at the beginning, peters out in the middle, huge surge at the end.

@Cameron This is based off the Mission Complete vids from Syndicate and SWars. That's why it's such an awesome reference.

    24. Nathan Sanchez on July 24, 2013

I was worried there for a while. Why does it seem like everyone waited until the 11th hour to jump on this game?

@Jallister I knocked up the mission accomplished video in about an hour and a half using assets from the pitch video, I finished it only about 10 minutes before we reached out goal. It was all done in Unity.

That video should be a cut-scene every time you finish a mission! Was awesome lol. Seriously do it!!! Put a setting in there too so we can toggle it on/off if people don't like it. :P

    43. Cameron (BLINK) on July 24, 2013

I should note though, I am excited for this game, it looks great :) didn't really mention that in last comment lol

    44. Cameron (BLINK) on July 24, 2013

I only pledged for this game because it was from Brisbane (where I also live), and THEN I actually clicked on the video to see what I had pledged for. Never played a syndicate game, never watched any gameplay of syndicate. Don't really care to either tbh, just want to see a great game be made in my home town. Nothing cool ever happens or comes from Brisbane :( now it finally can :) :) :)
