Greetings agents!

Usually the weekends are relatively quiet and since were are knuckling down preparing the coming FINAL weeks onslaught of updates for the Kickstarter we thought it might be time to have our agents do a bit of reconnaissance work for us. After all, what’s the point of running a big evil corporation if you can't order around your agents?!

Propaganda Blitz

Your mission is to spread the word of Satellite Reign. Enlist new recruits and “persuade” them to part with their hard earned cash! But being gracious overlords we wouldn't send you out blindly to recruit the masses. If every agent jumps on their Facebook or twitter accounts and helps get the Kickstarter in front of just a handful of new people, we could potentially have thousands more agents in our ranks, allowing us to hit our initial goal and start making good grounds towards our stretch goals! Below are messages for you to send out on your Facebook and Twitter accounts if you don’t want to write messages of your own.

Facebook:

  • “Hello everyone, I have recently supported this awesome game called Satellite Reign on Kickstarter. It is a spiritual successor to Syndicate Wars that is now in the final stretch to meet its funding goal. Have a look at the link below and if you like what you see please consider pledging. Thanks! http://support.satellitereign.com”

Twitter:

Twitch Live Stream

We have also had a few requests for us to play through Syndicate Wars and give a bit of a commentary on it. So this Tuesday we are going to have a live Twitch stream and show off Mikes skills at playing a game he hasn't played for 15 years :D. We will also have a few of the 5 Lives team around to help answer any questions you have.

Twitch Times:

  • AEST Wednesday 24th July     9am (Brisbane)
  • UTC / GMT Tuesday 23rd July 11pm
  • BST Tuesday 23rd July             Midnight (London)
  • EDT Tuesday 23rd July             7pm (New York)
  • PDT Tuesday 23rd July             4pm (Los Angeles)

(we will send out another update with a link when we are about to go live)

… go forth and multiply agents!

      I've made a post in russian IT-community, habrahabr here - http://habrahabr.ru/post/187350/

Let's hope crowdfunding in Russia can do the job. I really wish you guys can make it, you deserve it. And series deserves it, too.

@Kaguya: As I remember it, the trick to avoid getting blown up is to stick meticulously to the roads, and not enter any of the housing blocks. Takes a bit of extra time to round up the civilians that way, but once all the satellite rains are done, you can split up your acolytes and have some of them wave their guns around to scare civilians into the arms of an acolyte who's hiding an indoctrinator until the right moment.

Apparently the explosions are buried in the potholes that can be seen, but after an area has been satellite-rained, everything looks like a big pothole. Maybe undamaged pavement is safe?

Aside from our own efforts have you tried getting other companies and groups involved in the scifi/cyberpunk genres to help promote your drive? Project Red (who is developing their own Cyberpunk game) comes to mind for one. Chris Roberts of Star Citizen also sometime promotes crowd-funding drives for other games.

Invisible mines? You mean trigger wire!
Odd, I'm pretty sure you're supposed to be able to see razor and trigger wire with a high enough level brain.

I have a New Delhi mission question! If you press the button to hide the buildings, you can see there's a sprite of a burning man inside one of the buildings (towards, but not across the water). It never animates / disappears, and it's 'street furniture' rather than a 'character'. What was it? easter egg / bug / my imagination?

Also, I think I loved and hated that Bangkok mission in equal measure - so many pretty explosions :]

As a refresher / for the unintiated: the map is full of satellite rains (not a big problem) and INVISIBLE MINES. Invisible mines that kill any acolyte, regardless of what upgrades they have on them. Mostly circumvented by walking around the edges of the map. After that, you need to assault a base accessible only by train. Once you get that done, you need to persuade a grunt in there. Except you need 15 civvies persuaded for it to work, which means going back into the city, persuading 15 civilians, all the while praying you don't hit one of those invisible mines which pretty much force you to restart if you do hit 'em.

Gave up on my recent playthrough on that mission few weeks ago.

Wait, it was the Bangkok mission. Seriously what were they thinking when they made that one?

    11. Kaguya on

Oh please play the New Delhi mission with Church of the New Epoch. :D
