Jace Hall Show Q&A

Posted by 5 Lives Studios (Creator)

Thanks to everyone's support and a generous shout out from the Wasteland 2 team on Facebook we woke up this morning (Australian Time) to see Satellite Reign roll over to £200k! An Amazing effort on everyone's part, given it's been just a week and a half since we launched.

We also had a chat with The Jace Hall Show where we go over the class structure, stealth gameplay and hint briefly at multiplayer.

Head on over to The Jace Hall Show to check it out!

OMG! Games workshop Co-founder Ian Livingstone CBE has endorsed us!

For me skill trees aren't bad because they make agents differen from each other, but because they give a pre-set difference you have to follow. There are specific directions you can take classes in, as designed by the devs, and thats it.
If the differentiation between agents was achieved through a more open system involving the implants, I believe more freedom could be achieved. I prefer running the danger of making a useless character over making viable characters out of limited choices provided by the devs.

      Sorry for double.
I like skill trees, this gives a lot to the game, it won't always be the same. Without this it would be boring to play 2nd time and none would start 3rd time.
We still play table-paper RPGs and we love statistics and dices and pumped characters and variable games. And it belongs to the genre, RPGs mustn't be simple, otherwise I want my money back. :-P

I cannot belive this! I still have the adventure books from Ian Livingstone and Steve Jackson! They are still great to play! :-D

@Robert: you haven't actually given them any money yet.The project hasn't reached its funding goal; the campaign isn't over. ;)
Though at least that diablo skill tree ahd some options. I am more worried that this will turn into the XCOM skill tree.

IF you do this. I want my money back! http://diablo.incgamers.com/gallery/data/500/medium/skill-tree-blizzcon2009-barb2.jpg…

Skill trees are the developers way of saying "We gave you this many choices of what you can do" :P
