About IRO● IRO● IRO●CARDS
IRO IRO IRO Cards is a strategy color matching card game for 2 to 6 players from the ages of 5 and up with an expected play time of 10 minutes per round.
For older players: Iro Iro Iro Cards offers a strategic planning game where each move has an effect on everyone else playing. Players choose which colors to play and which to hold onto while avoiding placing cards that will allow opponents to score. Will you be aggressive and take cards from other players to make matches? Will you be speculative by holding many cards of a single color before making a match to score more points later on?
For experienced board game players: Iro Iro Iro Cards is a great opener to play a few rounds before settling in for a long night of board gaming.
For very young players: Iro Iro Iro Cards is an educational game that exposes players to the Japanese Language through association learning while practicing color matching.
Playing with two sets of Iro Iro Iro Cards with the Expanded Set rules supports up to 12 players. By playing with two sets of boards and 176 cards, the game becomes much more complex with many more options and dangers on each turn. This expanded double version is recommended for 6 to 10 players with a minimum of 4 players and a maximum of 12 players. To receive the Expanded Set and to support this project greatly, back at the $40 “IRO Expanded Set Level.”

So, Why Kickstarter?
Kickstarter is the best way for this game to be published. The Kickstarter crowd likes new and fresh ideas that are not always found on a store’s shelves. All of you out there who love innovation are the main reason for finding funding here on Kickstarter.
Why such a low funding goal?
Through my research and past attempts, I have learned one very important thing about Kickstarter: getting funded is the most important part of a successful Kickstarter campaign. It sounds obvious, but it is amazingly true: the projects that reached their funding goals earlier were the most successful. With this in mind, I set out to have a very low funding threshold from the very start of this project. Keeping the minimum funding low and making it scalable was fundamental to the development of this game.
The Rules of the Game:
IRO●IRO●IRO CARDS Rules
①Draw 2 cards from the Draw Deck -or- Draw 1 card from the Draw Deck, give it to an opponent, and then take one of their cards.
②Place 1 or more cards of a single color on the table in front of its matching color on the game boards. The player must play at least one card on their turn.
③If 5 or more cards are in front of their color on the game boards; the player may then pick up the cards and place the cards in front of them.
④The player must say the color of the cards they are picking up in a non-native language or they lose their turn and cannot pick up any cards. Anyone 9 years old or younger may say the color in their native language.
⑤All cards held by each player and in front of the game boards must be visible to all players.
BOARD SET UP: Shuffle and place all cards on the Draw Card board.* Next, place the Color Boards on the table. The player whose birthday will arrive soonest goes first. The player on the left of the first player will go second and so on (Clockwise). *In expanded sets, use all color boards, but use only one Draw Card Board.
END OF GAME: The game ends if one person has 21 or more cards in front of them or if all the cards are drawn from the Draw Deck. The player, or players, with the most cards at the end of the game is the winner(s), and is declared awesome for 10 minutes.
