Summertime Sticks
Hey gang, here's a quick update. First, your new wallpaper:

As you can see, it has a definite "Summer" theme, which is why I'm trying to squeeze it out before Labor Day, the unofficial end of summer here in the US. I would have put it out first instead of the forest-themed one, but I didn't want to spoil the Silicon Elemental's appearance in the main comic. But it's here now, so you can go to the Wallpapers page on the main site to pick it up. Notice that I also updated the first wallpaper to have a few more sizes that were requested late.
In a similar "get it done before the end of the Summer" way, I've dived into the next Monster for Every Season release. So far, I've finished the aquatic animals, sea monsters, ogres, and most of the kobolds—with a lot left to go. Here's one of the sea monsters, the dreaded Eye of the Deep:

My goal is to finish the set before the actual official end of Summer on September 21st. Beyond that, I did a few more digital portraits and worked on the regular comic, as always. Workometer!

Not much else to say. See you back here for more monsters in a couple of weeks.

Only 11 hours, 6 minutes of summer (according to my computer's clock). Will we still see the Summer Minis in summer? I'm sure you can do it, Giant! :-)

Ok is V wearing a female bathing suit? I know it could be a 1920's style male one, but it really looks like a skirt and the male ones didnt have that!
Jeff Whaley on September 5, 2013
Heh, appropriate V is wearing Waldo colors and folks couldn't find our fave wizard.
Euodiachloris on September 2, 2013
That sunburn makes me itch every time I see it... Elan needs to learn how to do a V. Badly. lol
Michael on September 2, 2013
Sorry, I withdraw my post, but I did not identify him/her right due to the bathing suit ;-)
Nice one! Got me!!
Michael on September 2, 2013
Sorry, maybe I am blind, but is it correct that V is not in the Picture or do I just fail to see him/her?
Thanks for an info!

This Kickstarter project seems to be 'the-gift-that-keeps-on-giving' :)
Awesome, love the updates and the progress :)

Thanks for the update, Giant- totally stoked for the summer minis! (My kids love the last set)

Heh, Thor always gets me. Awesome as always, Rich.

Haha, I love the horseshoe crab. Nice touch, Rich.

Excellent artwork! I spent a wonderful few minutes zooming in to try to spot all the details,

Might I point out a small mistake? That has been part of every update since the completion of the funding and has annoyed me slightly, yet not enough to overcome the feeling of "Oh, but now you are just being petty"?
On the workometer, the character Therkla is incorrectly called "Thekla".

One year after the accident, how is your thumb? Can we have an exact percentage number?
Also, when do you expect to be doing the crayon drawings (the only non-patience physical reward you have not shipped)?

Absolutely amazing wallpaper :D
I think they both (this and the first) certainly would look pretty sweet on your wall, too - so maybe you could make poster-versions of these (and some of the following one, because I have the feeling they will be amazing, too)

Lookin' good! Glad to know Goblin Dan has a business plan.

@Bill: OK, those mistakes should all be fixed.
And they're called "flumphs."
Bill on August 31, 2013
My favorite part is the frisbee-playing whatchamacallits - or whatever you call those float-over-land-jellyfish...

On the 16x9's, the text on the download page shows a triple listing for 1280x720
The first really is 1280x720 (as it should be)
The 2nd is actually 1366x768 (good picture - just bad label)
The 3rd is actually 1600x1200 - which makes it the wrong size??? I think you wanted 1600x900
That's it for current typos/glitches. The pictures look great!

OK, iPad Retina, 1920x1080, and 1920x1200 should all be working. One of the double listings of 2560x1440 was supposed to be 3840x2160; it's properly labeled now. Also, I forgot that I put up the iPhone and Windows phone versions split into two versions, one featuring Haley and one featuring Roy. They're fixed now too.

1080p fixed!
Sarah Vee on August 31, 2013
Oh, I love it! That Roy, never missing a chance to show off his ranks in Architecture and Engineering... ;-) Thanks, Rich!

Surperb, if a bit reminiscent of vacation being over and, well, time to get back to work :-)
The 1920x1080 version gives an error: "This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it". No big deal, the 2560x1440 does the job beautifully.
And I wonder what the horseshoe is right at the bottom. Apparently there is such an animal as a "horseshoe crab", is it a reference?.
Philip Kahn on August 31, 2013
Looks like other have already noticed 1080p isn't happy. Looks great though :-)
Bob Taylor on August 31, 2013
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Jimmy on August 31, 2013
I'm getting an Access Denied error when I try to look at the 1920x1080 wallpaper. The other sizes seem to work fine though.
Keith Brunkala on August 31, 2013
Also, you have 2560x1440 listed twice.
Shadic on August 31, 2013
1920x1080 and 1920 x 1200 are both borked. They look great though!
