Signed, Sealed, and To-Be-Delivered

Welcome to what is probably the last Kickstarter update for 2012. It's going to be a fairly short one.

Physical therapy has been proceeding apace, and I've gotten to the point where I can now use a pen to make sloppy unintelligible lines. Lucky for me, my autograph has always been comprised of nothing but sloppy unintelligible lines. So I've slowly been trying to sign some of the outstanding autographed packages, in small clumps. I can't sign too many at once or my thumb starts to swell up, but I mailed a handful out before Christmas and I've got another handful sitting here, ready to go out tomorrow. Hopefully the rest will continue to drip forth over the coming weeks. This won't affect original art packages like crayon drawings—I don't have enough control for that yet—but I may jump some signed Patience packages ahead of them, just to get more off of my plate.

Also, if you previously got your autographed package with an I.O.U. for Sticky Shticks, those card decks have gone into the mail.

Ookoodook's warehouse is closed until after the New Year, but of the 150+ customers who contacted me with "missing" orders, all but about a dozen have either gotten their package now or at least know it's in the mail. We got 11 people from The List to contact us as well; if your name is still on there and you haven't contacted me, you have three days left to claim your stuff. If you're not on that list but for some reason you still don't have your (non-autographed and non-art-including) package, follow the instructions in Update #50 to contact the right person to fix your problem.

And that's it. Thanks again to all of you for the crazy rollercoaster that 2012 has been, and I hope you continue to stay patient with me as I claw my way back to work and get all those digital extras finished in 2013.

A new comic and books getting signed. I'm glad that you're now able to do things. Hopefully this will be a happy new year for you, Rich. I think we can take prosperous for granted.

Thanks for the new comic, Rich! I didn't think you'd progressed quite that much! That's great to hear!

Brave Sir Thumb needs to be added to the cut-outs, I think.

Glad to hear the recovery is going well! And much thanks and joy for the new OOTS comic! But yes, I'm sure we all agree with your plan to still take things slow and be sure not to strain anything. Feel the stare of 14,000-plus KS backers and many more fans as we all watch (virtually) that you stick to that promise. Hope you and Mrs. Giant had a great Christmas, and have a happy New Year! ^_^

If only you could draw up Durkon Thundershield and have him heal your hand... ah well, here's to hoping you heal quickly!

Merry Christmas, Rich and Mrs Rich. Best wishes for the new year. :)

Merry Christmas, Our Lord of the Necromantic Digit.

Heh. "Claw" your way back to work and finish the "digit"al extras. I get it!

Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healling New Year! My thanks to you for this wonderful rollercoaster ride on the OOTS train. Your request for patience is happlily granted. As others have said, a healthy thumb is worth much more than expedited crayon drawings!

We love you, Rich. Happy New Year!

Just think how much an item signed with an injured thumb will be worth to the truly discriminating OOtS collector... :)

Seriously glad to see you recover that much, Rich, and hope your remaining recovery is quick and smooth. My four-year-old daughter (who is a fan of the coloring books and minis if not the comic) just asked me how you were doing 2 days ago... happy to give her encouraging news.

Thank you very much for the update, Rich! I'm glad your healing is progressing, and I hope it continues to progress without incident. Happy Holidays, and take it easy!

Take care Rick and I hope you have a great recovery in 2013! :)

Rich, definitely want to echo the comments below about taking it easy and not worrying about us. A healthy thumb is MORE than worth a quicker crayon drawing!

Hope you and yours have a wonderful New Year that brings you nothing but happiness! Well, happiness and gold pieces. Unless gold pieces make you happy, at which time, happiness should cover it.

Rich, you are an example for all Kickstarter's to follow of how to keep your backers updated and informed. That all Kickstarter project folks would be so good...sigh. Good luck for 2013, and continue to heal!

@Rich, wishing for you and your family a Happy New Year !

Glad to hear it, take care of yourself, heal carefully, and have a great new year.

(For what encouragement it's worth... my thumb injury was very similar to yours, including a break that severed the thumb completely, about four months before you did. I'm now fully back at work, and have even begun to return to fencing. And I've recovered the ability to open stuck coke bottles.

It takes time, but it will get there.)

Glad to hear you're doing well. Thanks for the update. Take care of yourself!

Don't overwork yourself Rich! It's good you're making progress, but remember - we'd much rather you were of sound health than to have our swag as soon as possible :) . Take it easy, let your thumb heal nicely and train without any pressure from us, we're a patient bunch ;) . Take care!
