@David P Murphy: there are two kinds of people, those who like patches, and those who don't :-)

Rich could probably create a 12 of 12 limited PATIENCE item mirroring the "Your Character" Walk-on $5,000 bid and make it a "Monthly Backer Cameo" with 1 appearance going to each backer at that level per month of strips over a year. Even with no other SWAG I'm willing to bet every one of those would sell out near instantly in the final stretch surge. Slap a $3,000 price on it and call it done. That would also bridge that yawning chasm between the 5k pledge and the 1250.

Please Rich, do it for Mr. Sruffinator!

I wonder how many of the 1943 $10 backers would bump to the $15 reward (getting the patch without any increase for shipping, even international) if they knew about it?

Another $3100 pledged in the last 30 minutes, along with 42 *new* backers. Amazing.

    6. Patrick on

@Austin: 2000% would be $1,155,000 so we still need about $72,500

    7. Missing avatar

Chances are that an update would cause some surge in donations- it goes straight to people's emails, prompting them to check for a new chart (and progress), and maybe motivating them to scrounge a few more dollars for this. Most people probably check in the evening, too, i.e. when they get off work/whatever and sit down to a computer.

    8. Missing avatar

      Gaerzi on

      @Austin: 2000% funded is $1 155 000, not $1 115 000. So we need about $73 000 to reach that goal in the next 22 hours.

      That's a long night. ; )

    10. Austin Samuel Andrews on

@David Murphy - We're close, but we need about $80k more to be 2000% funded at $1,115,000

Hitting the $1mill mark is what finally got me off my backside to donate. Couldn't do much, family to feed and all, but I'm happy to be part of history happening. I also look forward to seeing the books in stores. It'll be nice to be able to head down to the local comic/gaming store and pick up a book.

There will be a big push in these final hours. A lot of people have been holding back until now, waiting to see the newest packages and mystery prizes. But now we come to the end, so it's get or gone time. There will be a frenzy, just you watch.

We just crossed the halfway point from "$1,000,000" to "2000% funded". It took 20 hours to do so, and there are 22 left.

We're gonna break $1.1 mil easy, at this rate. Bets on $1.3 mil?

    21. Ahdok on

So, we're closer to the 2000% goal in money-per-hour-required than we were when I posted two days ago saying we could make it...

This'll be a really close one. If Rich throws up a few more premium PATIENCE rewards, then we might well make it.

At this moment, we're just under $3600 per hour required.

    22. Missing avatar

      Elizabeth Heller on

And there go the next set of $300 signed books, whooosh!

    23. parmeisan on

$3730/h in the next 24 hours. We need some more $1000+ rewards, quick!

    24. duefiori on

You know what - in spite of what i said early, there IS actually a small opening for the 2000% goal. Compared to the 3640ish $/h so far since we hit 900k, it's 3650ish $/h needed in the next 25 hours. I'm quite happily incredulous.

No, Rich's original goal was completely accurate; the extra million is simply to cover the shipping costs.

Any chance on getting that picture on a T-shirt?

    33. Eric on

No, no it is not. KS does not allow 'a la carte' rewards or there would not have been a need for all the different reward options to cover (almost) every conceivable option. Just work out your totals including shipping and extras, pledge that amount and keep a reminder handy so that when the survey comes out after the drive ends you can tell Rich exactly what you paid for.

    34. Missing avatar

      Gorm Tveit Eriksen on

Is it possible to add the shipping costs in the same way you do rewards? Giving me the option to tag "10 $ for international shipping" under my "manage your pledge".

This would make it easier for you to see how much of the donations will go straight to shipping.

In "Goldenleaf" in SSaDT the Belkar drawing is in black and white. In Update 25, http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/599092525/the-order-of-the-stick-reprint-drive/posts/177409, it is in colour. Is the whole story available in colour somewhere?!

    37. stsasser on

At the current total- $1,052,557- this is only $5200 from exceeding the original goal by a full *pinky* one MILLION dollars!

With regards to the upgraded website/computer/software/Cintiq etc. get it all, but please don't change the parameters of the strip. Still update on your schedule, regardless of our needy whining and don't sacrifice quality for speed or volume. If 12,000+ people say with their $$ that you are doing it right, why do it some other way?

Thank you for your incredible work.

Well done, all! And thanks, Rich. I've been following OOTS from the UK since 2006 and have all the books - one of the few examples of a genuinely brilliant webcomic and this is the proof you needed as the void talks back at last. :-D

Well, I finally got my pledge in. Not as much as I would like to give (man, I really want the game, *weep not having $80 spare*) but still yay.

I definitely think that the operating fund should go to upgrading Rich's equipment, especially for the forums. I used to be there all the time, but the errors due to too much traffic and whatnot were just too much so I stopped logging in.
