Double the Rewards, Double the Charts

We reached the "Super-Size" line sometime this morning, so that means that every order of $125 or more will get two stickers and two notepads, while every order over $250 will now get two coloring books! Now, I've been getting a lot of emails and comments from people who are confused about all the bonus extras and what they have to do to get each of them, so I've created this handy (and colorful) chart to let you know. This should cover 90% of the cases, so hopefully everyone will be clear on all the free stuff they're getting.

There's not much other new information yet today; I'm still waiting to hear back on a few things, and everything else is sort of in cruise mode. So here's the regular chart:

I think I'll probably have more to say tomorrow. Sorry. They can't all be deep ruminations on the joys of the creator-audience relationship.

General Question, maybe I missed it, but I don't currently own the game, so here is a hypothetical:

If i was to skip on the stickyshticks cards, but later decided to buy the game, would I be able to buy the mini-expansion later, like, on his site or something?

    3. R. Greg Szrama on February 13, 2012

Blurg, want it all but the wife won't go for it. I guess I'll settle for print-only then maybe get some extra overtime to get the rest, hah...

    4. Mary Pat Campbell on February 13, 2012

YAY! I find out I get a bonus today, and now I'm getting the whole story (+ the game)....

    5. Eric Gau on February 13, 2012

Yes, sir, I would like the Deluxe Edition plus The Whole Story, thank you! *changes pledge*

    6. Karl on February 13, 2012

Upped pledge cause I want it all.

Anyone else miss that the $25 pledge level also includes the hp pad, stickers, and coloring book? It didn't seem like so from the description.

how much do i pledge for a double-espresso dark mocha latte with hazelnut and extra foam with cinnamon powder (the extra foam keeps the cinnamon from blending with the mocha flavor until just the right moment)?

And the signed copy's gone again. Sure hope that was you, Phil.

    14. Steve Jensen on February 9, 2012

@maldar Not exactly my point - I'm saying that the *packaging* won't fit everything, thus he will have to move up to a larger flat-rate box, costing more. If you look at some of the early updates below, he mentions how adding one book will barely fit in some of this selected packaging. That was long before HP pads, and coloring books.

    15. maldar on February 9, 2012

@Steve Jensen He is using Flat-Rate envelopes and boxes, adding more won't change the postage, unless he has to moveto the next size larger.

Could have made two accounts and gone for both, money permitting of course. Or yeah, message Rich about combining it. (Quick, grab your signed copy back!!)

      on February 9, 2012

@Phil I probably shouldn't mention that you probably could have gotten another signed book added on if you asked really nicely.

    18. David on February 9, 2012

Could have asked Rich to combine your pledge, like lots of others have...

    19. Phil Creswell on February 9, 2012

Finally upgraded. Wanted to get two signed books that wasn't going to happen, so I just went with the Pick Two and someone else is going to get a signed copy of OtOoPCs. *sigh*

Look at the description of the $1250 prize level for what the backer's choice stories are all about. We won't know the characters until after the drive's over, per Rich.

Going to need to move the orange line to $830,827 due to the Double Fine drive. At the rate the Double Fine drive is going it might even break $1M before the iphone dock drive.

    28. Kevin Bruckert
      on February 9, 2012

@Hugo: @John: I totally agree, but he seems against doing that. I've over-donated to the cause already (more money than my reward tier), and want him to use some of it for himself, or at least for things like tablets to make his job easier.

@Rich Burlew: I'm sure plenty of us could make you a webpage elsewhere that is nothing but a "donation calculator" which does nothing but give the checkboxes for the different rewards, tracks package size, and shows how much needs to be donated, and what the shipping charges are. Many of us would be glad to do that for you, for free. :)

    29. Steve Jensen on February 9, 2012

I'm concerned about all the LIMITED "add on" options shown in the rewards. Not all of them, just some. For example, look at $24, 25, 32, 50, 55, ... in these Rich has limited to adding just one additional book -- usually because just that one additional book will fit in the current planned package (and thus, the current planned shipping cost).

But suppose people have done just that, upped their pledge to add the max allowed. NOW add in 1 (or 2!) coloring books, HP pads, stickers -- I'm worried that Rich is going to find many packages overfilled, and have to go larger - costing more shipping w/o having collected it (intl would really be a hit).

I think this graph here should have noted some of those limits on applicable packages.

    30. John Thompson on February 9, 2012

@Hugo: Exactly (add a bit to your pledge as a "thank you" instead of as a "gimme more.") Besides... if Rich gets new drawing toys... we end up getting more! (And if he just takes a relaxing vacation in the Bahamas, it's still a good thing.)

    31. Scott Eiland on February 9, 2012

Paging Roy! Meat shield needed topside, pronto! :-)

    32. Hugo on February 9, 2012

@kevin: or everyone just adds a buck (or so) to their pledge amount as a "thank you" for all the work he'll be putting in in managing this. That would allow Rich to get the goods. And frankly, I'm all for Rich getting an (extra) present for himself out of this :)

@Adam: I was on my tablet doing a quick ballpark estimate. That was just the first price I found on Amazon for the high-end Cintiq tablet. In reality, we need more details from Rich (and his permission) to do it.

      Adam I. on February 9, 2012

@Kevin Out of curiosity I looked Cintiq up and those are pretty cool, but their top of the line model is $2600 / .9 (for kickstarter + amazon fees) and you're under $2900. So you can lower your target a bit unless there are some essential accessories that he'd need. Oh, and I'd throw in a few bucks for that.

Not to knock how impressive this campaign is...
      it really, really is...
but Tim Shafer and Double Fine just started a Kickstarter drive and leap frogged this amount in like a day.
I think a fan-funding revolution might be just around the corner!

It's around $3100 to get Rich a Cintiq. I'd definitely pitch in. I wonder what Kick starter would think if I tried to start a "Get Rich Burlew a Cintiq" Project. :-) I bet it would fund!

    40. Céline .S. Sauvé on February 9, 2012

    41. Rorudo on February 9, 2012

Count me among those hoping that these charts and splash pages (for things like Dim Sun) will get to see the light of day in some kind of compilation or as bonus material in an upcoming book. My hope rests firmly on the latter.

P.S. Rich, I love your work and I'm so glad to be able to contribute to what is 7,735 fans and counting spreading their adoration for this band of stick heroes. Thanks for making us laugh and keeping us glued to our computer screens all these years!

@Chase Chill, man. No disrespect meant. Everything costs money, and crying for more value would hardly be fair to Rich. The coloring books were given as example because a) I don't own a single crayon, and b) it looked like what would add most to shipping cost.

Explosive runes vinyl or window clings would be AWESOME. Cricut, anyone? I also think there should be a last minute category for getting Rich a Cintaq. But I was motivated to finally speak up by the idea of being able to "cast" explosive runes on my walls or windows.

So I have a question. Though its probably been answered already. I donated for swag pack #1 but I wanted to get a book added to that (Snips, Snails...). I had thought I'd be able to alter my pledge when it was authorized to deduct the extra, but now i'm not thinking that. What would be the best way to fix this? Cancel my donation, then make a new one for the combined total? Or just donate another $30?

    49. Chase on February 9, 2012

@Anders Markussen Seriously?! Why would you wors that like that? I can understand saying that you would like bookmarks added to everything but it is obviously impossible to "forgo" one thing for another on this site. It seems disrespectful to Rich.
