Why not a pocket fountain pen?
That was the question that drove us to this project. We see a lot of pocket pens but none of them is a fountain pen. The challenge was to build a pocket fountain pen with a minimalist and modern design and at the same time to create a pen capable of giving you a superior writing experience. A fountain pen that you can always carry with you in any occasion.
Minimalist design, when it's closed is the perfect size pen to put in your pocket, bag or simply to hold it in your hand palm.
When it's open and posted it becomes the perfect size fountain pen, perfectly balanced, equipped with a Bock nib capable of giving you that transcendental writing experience you have always been looking for.
Tiny comes with a steel Bock nib available in F, M and B size. You can't go any better than that!

The original design was related to a fountain pen with a total length of about 130 mm, with clip and cap that can be posted. Once we built the nib section and the cap, we realized that we could have developed a smaller fountain pen that could be easy to put in your pocket. One of the main feature of this smaller pen is that once the cap is posted it would become a perfect size fountain pen and also very well balanced. We liked it immediately so we decided to change the original project to this smaller pen and we called it Tiny.
This is the classic example on how you start with a project in mind and then you end up by building something different. We may consider to use the original design for a future project on Kickstarter.

Production plan will go on smoothly according to the final drawings and the experience that I have already acquired over this period of time. If the project gets funded production will start right away:
Phase -1- February 2015: All Bock nibs will be arriving from Germany. Blank rods of brass will be ordered also.
Phase -2- March 2015: With inside lathes and machines we have a production capability of 200 pens per month, over that amount production will be outsourced up to a thousand pens per month.
Phase -3- March 2015: all finished pens will be sent out for the chrome and coating process that will take no more than two weeks. End of March, each pen will be quality inspected and packed in a secure packaging.
Phase -4- April 2015: each pen will be shipped to the proper address.
Risks and challenges
I have been making pens for a few years now, I personally design and manufacture all my pens, so I have total control of the manufacturing process and consolidated access to the material suppliers. If this project gets funded I assure that everything will go according to plans and that each deadline will be met.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
