Almost at the Finish Line!

Posted by BAUBAX LLC (Creator)

Dear Founding Family,

Congratulations!!! We have become the 6th most funded campaign in the history of Kickstarter (Out of approx 250,000). It’s time to pat your back. It’s only because of your love and support that BauBax Jackets are coming to life to solve all the inconveniences that travelers face around the world.

Congratulations on unlocking the $6.5 Mn stretch goal! You all have earned a water-resistant Smartphone pocket, which fits the biggest iPhone (6 plus) and the biggest Samsung phone (Note 5). Now each BauBax Jacket would come with 15 + 2 = 17 features (including the two stretch goals).

Unfortunately, we are not announcing any more stretch goals. Following are the reasons why:

1. We’ve learned from our suppliers that even the best quality double zippers are not always reliable and tend to fail after a few months of use. We cannot afford to risk our brand and the quality of the jackets by choosing a zipper that is likely to fail in a few months.

2. We’ve learned from our operations team that the lead time of RFID proof fabric is longer than that of our other fabrics and raw materials. We cannot afford to delay our manufacturing due to the unavailability of the RFID fabric. If it’s a must have feature for you, then we suggest you buy a RFID proof Passport cover/sleeve for your travels. Our passport pockets will be big enough to fit a passport with a standard size RFID sleeve/cover.

3. Our operations and design teams are at the factories now working to build the final factory ready patterns. Now, adding any more features to the jackets is just going to add to the complexity and likely cause delays. So, we’ve decided not to add any more features and just perfect the already complex design that we have conceived and deliver it to you in the best quality possible.

Here are the results of the last 3 color polls:

Women’s Gray Sweatshirt - Shade:

Dark Gray: 77%, 1,555 votes

Light Gray: 23%, 477 votes

Women’s Bomber - Third Color (apart from Black and Blue):

Red: 65%, 2,346 votes

Military: 35%, 1,257 votes

Men’s Bomber - Third Color (apart from Black and Blue):

Red: 55%, 1,824 votes

Military: 45%, 1,468 votes

Based on the poll results, we have updated the final color options on the campaign page. Because we are a startup, and offering the jackets at highly discounted prices, we won’t be able to offer more than 3 colors per style.

We heard you ladies - We have changed our Women’s Blazer to a Two button design instead of One. Having two buttons will make it more consistent with the look of a Business Jacket. Also, it will allow more room in the inside to fit the pockets perfectly.

For plus size women's - You may want to consider buying men’s jackets because, except for the Blazer, the Men’s jacket designs are unisex.

Now is your chance to add the Pocket Blanket to your pledge. We have engineered and specially developed this Blanket which is sized perfectly for your flight travel needs, and folds and fits into a small pocket.

We’ll be shipping the blankets free if you have pledged for a jacket. For each Blanket you add, you’ll be saving on the $5 shipping fee. You can add as many blankets as you want to your pledge. Below are the steps (also mentioned in our FAQs) on how to order a blanket:

Its easy just pledge an extra $25 to your pledge for EACH blanket and we will ship the blankets to you for free! To add a blanket to a new pledge:

1. Visit the project page and click the blue Back this project" button that appears on the right.

2. Select the JACKET reward that you want to pledge for.

3. Select the country you want it shipped to.

4. Add $25 for each blanket you want to the pledge amount. For example if the original pledge amount is $109 make this amount $134 ($109 original amount in the pledge box + $25x1 blanket).

5. Hit "continue" and finish your pledge We will be asking you if you bought a blanket as an add on in the survey we send after the campaign

1. Visit the project page and click the blue “Manage" button that appears on the right.

2. On the top of the page you will see your "Pledge amount".

3. For each blanket add $25 to the pledged amount. For example if the original pledge amount is $109 make this amount $134 ($109 original amount in the pledge box + $25x1 blanket).

4. Hit "continue to next step" and you are done! We will be asking you if you bought a blanket as an add on in the survey we send after the campaign

WHERE THE HELL IS MY JACKET? I purchased early (July 2015) You said delivery before Christmas! No update, no info, what's happening?

Cassondra, they've neverreally promised that it will definitely be 100% cotton. All they did promise was that the initial idea is for it to be 100% cotton but subject to change if necessary.
If you seriously want your money back, i'd suggest this tiresome method - sell it off online when you get it.

Baubax LIED about the fabrics it will use in its products. The sweatshirt is now a mix of cotton and polyester, NOT the 100% cotton initially advertised. When I asked them about it, Baubax said the change was needed to put more gadgets on the sweatshirt. I'm allergic to polyester and asked for a refund. I am still, after nearly 3 weeks, waiting for the refund.

      @beverly best :
Check their rewards section. your selected reward should look like this: if yours didnt have any, DO NOT REPLY HERE. SEND THEM AN EMAIL (suppot@baubax)

What happened to the blazer? I didn't see that in the list of available options when I just filled out the order. But I see above that you changed from two button to one button for the BLAZER. That's what I still want.

On your last update, you say that the women's blazer will now have a 2-button design. But the pics for the blazer still show only one button. Will you be taking updated pics for the women's blazer?

May I know when will the survey for the sizing, style and colour be sent out?

    23. Rolts on

@ Vincent Nault: the survey for style, size, colour and shipping address should arrive by email within the next week. It is just 14 days since the funding finished. Kickstarter takes 2 weeks to process backer payments. Only when this step has occurred can Baubax (the project creators) access a list of all valid backers. Surveys will be sent out shortly after this. For up to date information please look at the Comments section as the most recent questions and answers tend to be posted there.

    24. Vincent Nault on

Is there a form to enter the sizing and color ?

    25. Rolts on

@ Jignesh Patel; unfortunately there is no method to cancel a pledge. All I can suggest is that you contact Baubax directly and ask them. If you go to the campaign page, click on Baubax name it takes you to a pop-up screen "About the Creator". On this page is a blue "Contact me" button. Use this to contact Baubax directly.

I'd also like to add the blanket to my blazer. Am I still able to do this now the funding is over?

Sadly I thought it wasn't funding until the end of the day and I would still have time to do this.

    31. Katarina Ovens on

I'd like to add he blanket to my sweatshirt, but the funding is over. How can I do this?

    32. Tiffany Linski on

Can I still add on the blanket to my sweatshirt now that the funding is over?

    33. Belle on

@Jay They're not taking away any stretch goals. They are simply saying that they won't be adding anymore. Double zippers and RFID proof were never actual stretch goals; they were something backers wanted.

    34. Missing avatar

      Jay on

Taking away the stretch goals is really quite disappointing. How is it possible that due diligence is not done beforehand to know whether or not you can fulfill your stretch goals promises? Whether it is quality of materials or lead time to be taken? Stretch goals already imply that you need to hit a certain quantity to get them. When that quantity is reached, you turn the other way and say if you deliver on the stretch goals, it will take too long and delay delivery?(!)
Also with regard to quality, so many jackets use double zippers. SO MANY RELIABLE BRANDS use double zippers... namely, mostly,, YKK. even cheap uniqlo ones do.
PLS, pls clarify and help us understand the real reasons better. If it is simply to manage/decrease cost, just be honest and say so.

    35. Dang Khoa Nguyen on

Please reconsider your decision about double zipper please :((( we need this feature so badly !! Please make your best !

    36. Missing avatar

      Sebatian Lee on

Well... its slowly disappointing me already...
Ordered 4.. and because of these "delay" issues and "quality" issues... hmm..

    37. Assyura Muharam on

Please add total length at the sizing chart, so we can choose the jacket and blazer size more accurately, pleaseeeee :'(

    38. Sarah Larrabee on

@Shermin, they're stating they stopped adding more stretch goals, past the 2 they've done, because adding any more to the design will cause delay. Not that the 2 passed already will cause delay.

    39. Rolts on

@ Anthony D Archer; if you are being charged shipping for the blanket, you haven't followed the instructions properly and have pledged for the blanket ONLY. You may have cancelled you jacket pledge. The blanket ships FREE with any jacket order, but the blanket COSTS $25 each. Both this update and the FAQ state this.

    40. Yvonne

A survey will be sent after the kickstarter ends and all money is collected. It will ask for all your information: shipping address, size, color, etc. Depending on the project, survey could be sent right after it ends or closer to when they are ready to deliver.

How come I didn't found or been asked for what color and size will fit me?, yet? it still coming ? Thank you

    43. Anthony D. Archer on

Does the free shipping for the Pocket Blanket only apply to orders shipping to the USA? I'm being charged USD10 for shipping outside of the USA.

Also, think you need to reconsider the wording regarding the Pocket Blanket. Initial impression is that you get a free blanket for every jacket ordered.

    44. Ritchie Wong on

I think your suppliers are pulling the wool over your eyes - My other half and I own about 10 jackets between us with double zippers and we've never had a single one fail on us. This includes both heavy duty double zippers and the slim, almost hidden ones.

Having double sided zippers is essential to us since the intended and most common use of our Baubax Bombers will likely be on a plane where we will want to zip up to keep warm and to sit comfortably - the inability to loosen the bottom of the jacket is a huge issue for us (and I'm sure many other buyers who appreciate the utility of a double zipper) as it will cause the jacket to either ride up to the waist or wrap oddly around our behind when it's zipped.

Please reconsider your decision and seek better suppliers. Many high end jacket brands like Kjus uses YKK double zips - if they don't have an issue, I don't see what your supplier thinks there is one.

    45. Steve on

@Mitul. There is a sizing chart near the bottom of the campaign page. Yes, it is in inches. If you multiply these numbers by 2.5, you will have the measurements in centimetres.

    46. Steve on

@Pearl Low. You will need to change your pledge to one that includes two jackets.

John, they stated from their suppliers. Which probably means that the suppliers they are using and the double zippers they have, even the highest quality ones, are ones which have shown failure. Yes, a high quality zipper will last no matter what, however if they do not have the access to the zippers that will not fail why would they take the chance? I've seen a lot of double zippers fail, and I respect their decision to not include one for the failure rates of the zippers they have access to.
