Do Not Disturb + More Notification Controls

Happy holidays! We’ve been working hard (like elves in a workshop) to improve the Pebble experience and platform. Today, we’re happy to announce the release of PebbleOS v1.14, which addresses a number of features that you have been asking for. To get these new features on your Pebble, open the Pebble iOS or Android app to begin the process. (Visit here for extra help updating your firmware.) If you haven't already, you can visit our blog and sign up for our newsletter in the upper right corner.

What’s New

Do Not Disturb - Block notifications for a set period of time. On your Pebble this new setting can be found under: Settings » Notifications » Do Not Disturb.

Alarms Update - Create multiple alarms, toggle them on/off, and edit existing alarms. We’ve also added a new “Snooze Alarm”, customizable via the Pebble Alarms app.

Improved Notification Control - Get more control over what notifications are displayed (All Notifications, Phone Calls Only, or No Notifications). We’ve also moved Notification settings for faster access through a dedicated menu: Settings » Notifications.

Improved iOS performance - Notifications are now sent more quickly from your iOS device to your Pebble. In addition, after exiting Airplane Mode, Pebble will now search for connectable iOS devices immediately, instead of waiting one minute.

This release also provides the following bug fixes:

  • Fixed an issue where Pebble may enter “Recovery Mode” immediately after updating to 1.13 firmware.
  • Fixed issue affecting some iOS Pebblers who experienced dropped Bluetooth connections a few seconds after connecting.
  • Fixed an issue where Caller ID data would not display on Pebble after receiving a missed call.
  • Improved reliability of Bluetooth data transfers, particularly during a firmware update.
  • Fixed an issue where Pebble would sometimes continue to vibrate after dismissing or answering a phone call.

Lastly, we recently released Beta 3 of Pebble SDK 2.0, this includes bug fixes, stability improvements, and new features. You can find out more on the Pebble developer blog.

We hope you enjoy these new features. Thanks as always and Pebble on!

I have a white pebble watch. It was the last color to come out. I only used it a few times and it now is not working. The screen was first distorted and now is blank. What can be done or who can I contact?

      Hi Guys,

I am very disappointed as I ordered an additional Pebble with your November promo (minus USD 20) and it was in stock at that time. But whenever i go on your site, the order is processing and shipping soon. It was meant to be a X'mas gift, but seems like it will be for 2014 X'mas !!! :-((
I mailed your customer service at least 3 or 4 times requesting for a clarification. I am disappointed and frustrated as I have not heard at all from you, but the amount was debited from my card. It would be great if you can improve your customer service and keep up with servicing your customers adequatelly and respectfully.

      Best wishes for 2014.
      Francis

Any plans to make the watch's notification design more streamline? I'm using this app for default notification. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details…

the original watchband is cracked. it didn't last too long. where can I get a new, more durable, band?

I'm still waiting for my pebbles...

    6. Creator AK (deleted) on December 16, 2013

@Brian, if you're on Android you can use a great app called Pebble Notifier to fine tune notifications.

    7. Creator Marcos Santacruz on December 15, 2013

love my pebble. one small bug i found. whenever my iphone 5s crashes and reboots, all my notifications are "re-sent" to my pebble, causing it to vibrate frantically until all my notifications queue is sent back to my watch. any way to prevent this after a reboot?

    8. Creator Brian Glick on December 15, 2013

Would still love ability to choose which notifications hit my Pebble, but separately from which notifications show up on my phone. I'd love phone calls + SMS on my Pebble (time-sensitive stuff), without buzzing me for the other phone notifications that don't require my immediate attention.

I love my Pebble, but still hate the armband... Any recommendations?

    10. Creator Caleb Henney on December 14, 2013

just a shout out to the pebble team for making a quality product that doesn't suck like that galaxy gear crap. i love my pebble and always get compliments on it.

Since the 1.13 update I can happily report that my battery life is finally at the mythical (to me that is) 7 days. I like the new features and look forward to actually being able to use my Pebble as intended rather than having to charge every 1-2 days

    12. Creator Grant on December 14, 2013

Alarms is great update, like to see same improvement to timer app. Yeah also battery algorithm could do with big improvement. Very random at best!!

    13. Creator Ove Kristensen on December 14, 2013

I'm having trouble updating to 1.14. The phone app simply doesn't report an update available. I've restarted the iPhone and watch several times, and unpaired and paired a few times as well. Aren't all the update servers still propagated?

    14. Creator Neal Champion on December 14, 2013

I had a small issue with this update, that I thought you should know about.

This is on a Nexus 5 running Android 4.4.2

The update ran, and then on completion immediately started again. And then again. I hit the cancel button on the phone, but I had to shut down and restart the Pebble to get things to behave. After that everything was OK, and the Pebble is reporting the correct version..

Still waiting for my kick starter pebble in Germany. No communication from pebble. Must say I'm a bit disappointed. However I'm glad that you are all happy with the device ;-)

    16. Creator Torey Rubin on December 13, 2013

Great update, but I have a few questions. My iPhone only connects to using the regular pebble Bluetooth and won't connect using the LE Bluetooth. Also on my pebble app it has a red banner that says 'Not receiving notifications' but the watch has been receiving notifications just fine.

+1 for battery indicator if i go to menu.

Just now its only visible while loading or if its near empty. But i would like see it always with a % number

    18. Creator ReptilianSamurai on December 13, 2013

Pebble keeps getting better! The new alarms features makes alarms much more usable, and I'm glad to hear that you've ended that annoying vibrating bug.

    19. Creator JT on December 13, 2013

Just wanted to follow up to my last post and say the update went off without a hitch after I waited an hour.

The improved notification speed is fantastic and eliminates my one quibble with the watch.

      Thanks!

    20. Creator Richard Parkins on December 13, 2013

Great update! love to see the new features and am glad you guys are still working on improving the pebble and adding features. I would also like to request a battery icon with a percentage. often i leave home and my watch dies 10-20 min after i leave and now i can't charge it so I'm watch less all day. I would like to be able to see how much of a charge the freaking battery has. maybe add an item in the settings or display it when you go in to the menus off of the watch face. To me this seems like a basic need and I'm not sure why this was never included. Please add this to the list of things your adding in the next update.

I returned my Pebble on November 6 and have not received any acknowledgement of the return or a replacement for the defective Pebble. I really can't comment on the user interface as it simply doesn't exist.

Great to see this is still being worked on. Have you guys started to look into the bug causing the screen to scramble, yet? I'd be using my Pebble a lot more if that issue was resolved! :)

Thanks for getting rid of that vibrate-while-calling issue. Almost made me go crazy!

    26. Creator JT on December 13, 2013

Is anyone else having trouble updating to the newest version? I get an "update failed" message at 40%.

    27. Creator Toby on December 13, 2013

      I love my Pebble

    28. Creator Anthony Oren on December 13, 2013

What about a battery indicator? I love the watch but the battery can die on any random day, and what's worse, is after i recharge it, I have to re-calibrate the time and data and settngs all over again. Please advise!

    30. Creator John McNaughton on December 13, 2013

The alarms features are good ones, looking forward to trying them.

    31. Creator Zabuni on December 13, 2013

I was having crashes from 1.13. I thought upgrading to 1.14 would help fix that. It didn't, and now I can't even pair the watch to my phone when it is in recovery mode. I sent a support ticket, both last week about the crashing, and today after the update bricked the device. Should I do anything else?

    32. Creator Alex on December 13, 2013

I just want to say how extremely happy I am with my pebble after the last major release that got all my iphone notifications working properly. It was a bummer before to only have sms and calls, but now it's just amazing.

I love my watch, and it works perfectly. I've convinced several of my coworkers to get them too, and I can't imagine leaving the house without it.
