Hello everyone. I haven't been around here for several months since Pebble Tech got Kickstarter to ban me. I guess Kickstarter had to listen to the mob that earned KS a juicy $50,000 fee.

Anyway, it seems the same old stuff here with Pebble. Most comments are complaints and they follow the same themes as ever: delays, dud watches, poor or nil support and lousy communication. And still German backers have not all received their watches.

Fortunately for Pebble, there are some projects on Kickstarter, like Omate Truesmart, which make Pebble Tech look respectable.

I'm scratching my head also! I want to know why all of us backers are not getting a discount on the steel pebbles? We backed you since day one and I have purchased two of your first edition pebbles this feels like I just got backstabed!! I really like the ideas of the new steel and it's tempting to buy one right now but will not do it without a discount!

      Hello,

I was an original Kickstarter backer and have had multiple issues with my Pebble. Now the screen does not render properly making the watch unusable and I have sent multiple emails to support@getpebble.com. I have not yet received a response. It would be nice to know you care about customers who backed you first. I understand the need to send updates on new products but I wish you would also find it important to give customer service to your very first customers.
Can someone kindly let me know when I can anticipate a response?

      Thank you.

I love my Pebble. I wear it daily. It already has a scratch on the face, but, that is life. It took a while for mine to arrive (I ordered an orange version) but they kept me well-informed. I haven't figured out how to have calendar events come up and vibrate, but I haven't really tried yet. Other than that, I just enjoy its unique look and the ability to see text messages or if someone is calling without having to have my phone right on me at all times. So there you have it.

still waiting for my original Pebble in Germany. How long can it take, honestly. Maybe the European customers are not large enough in numbers that it would warrant an actual effort from team pebble to get their product, which has been paid for for many many months now, out to their customers here. I am unhappy to say the least. Communication also leaves a lot to be desired on this front.

I'm a bit disappointed in the choice of watch band attachment on the new steel; I've replaced the band on pretty much every watch I've owned with one of those spring-loaded expanding bands, but, as far as I can tell, the band that comes with the new pebble steel is not interchangeable with anything else.

    28. Missing_small

Creator Oliver Unger (deleted) on January 6

hopefully the next comment will be a troll to channel the rage of the cumminity wich made this company what it is today - which it obviously seems to have forgotten.
I see the needs of a small company that even with the help of 70k bakers has only aproximatly a tenth of the devellopment budget of apple, samsung, sony or else to develop such a top class and inovative product to compete on the market, but to forget the roots of ones own origin will bring the whole thing to the ground.
      This is an Outrage!!!
Never forget where you came from - that's all!

Well at least we know why some backers don't have their watches yet, pebble have been too busy trying to make even more money by creating a steel pebble.

What about some decent software to go on these damn things, that is assuming you have a watch to put the software apps on.

Any other backers disappointed with the latest iOS update released in November? I have complained to Pebble on the support blogs but can't get any commitment of when it will be fixed.

iOS notifications are now "all or nothing". If you turn them on, EVERY calendar, mail, text, app notification buzzes your wrist. You used to have some control. now the only way to stop the madness is turn off the notifications on the PHONE which is unacceptable to me.

The app should allow you which notifications go the watch, not all or nothing. I have gone from loving my pebble to throwing it in a drawer until this is fixed. Maybe if enough people complain (and I'm far from alone on this), they will put more resources on this.

Until then, be wary of recommending one for friends for Christmas as many users will hate it.

Where do I go to purchase a screen protector for the face of the watch? I'm getting scared of all the comments of people not happy with the screen and how it scratches very easy.

'All the interest/excitement I had when I first came across it simply vanished the moment I got the product. I'm afraid it's mainly to do with the product itself. I was pretty unsatisfied with the build of the watch, so everything it can do became secondary once you saw that it all happened in what looked like - well, a Chinese-made toy.'

I went through that for a couple days. Given all the expectations, the final product seemed a bit weak. But, at this point, I'm so used to it that taking it off for an hour to recharge it drives me mad.

'I can tell you how many times I've worn the watch in the past few months by simply counting the scratches. One for every single time, and they're quite visible. I'm afraid to breathe on it now. Also the the screen seems to be glued on in what appears to have been a messy process. You can't see it normally, but the first time I looked at the watch with polarised sunglasses on, it looked SO unsightly, I was put off for good.'

I've never scratched mine. For a couple weeks, I had a screenprotector thing, but it annoyed me. My watch occasionally *looks* scratched, but it turns out to be nothing more than a bit of oil patterned to look like scratches by fingerprints; if I clean it off with my sleeve, it goes away.

About the polarised sunglasses: that's not glue. It's just the nature of LCD screens. Laptops and televisions have the same problem. The only thing my sunglasses don't cause problems with is my Kindle.

I backed the project in April 2012, got my Pebble in March 2013. This is my first comment here.

Was talking to a friend who asked about it last night and realised I need to say something here, as a simple part of the feedback process. Sorry about that. But in the same conversation, I did also realise why I didn't or hadn't done so yet.

All the interest/excitement I had when I first came across it simply vanished the moment I got the product. I'm afraid it's mainly to do with the product itself. I was pretty unsatisfied with the build of the watch, so everything it can do became secondary once you saw that it all happened in what looked like - well, a Chinese-made toy.

I can tell you how many times I've worn the watch in the past few months by simply counting the scratches. One for every single time, and they're quite visible. I'm afraid to breathe on it now. You can't see it normally, but the first time I looked at the watch with polarised sunglasses on, it looked SO unsightly, I was put off for good.

Why ruin what is clearly a great idea with such sub-standard production, guys?
