You Did It!

We want to thank each and every one of our backers for your support during this project.

When all was said and done, Pebble Core, Pebble 2, and Time 2 raised more than $12.7 million from over 66,600 backers. You made us the #3 All-Time Most Funded project in Kickstarter history, which is totally amazing.

Summer is in full swing and we can’t wait to get Pebble Core, Pebble 2, and Time 2 home to you!

The Road to Mass Production

After closing the Kickstarter project last week, the team took a well-earned long weekend to celebrate Canada Day and the 4th of July. We’re back in full force today and look forward to the road ahead.

A pre-production, Design Verification Test (DVT) unit hot off the assembly line. Brand new packaging design concept as well! Still working out final colors and layouts, so the final look is still in flux.

Over the next few weeks, Pebble 2 is heading into the final test stages before mass production. We’ve already manufactured hundreds of pre-production units that are going through environmental, mechanical, electrical, battery life, and other stress tests.

Things are looking good, but as always a lot of fun (and some stress) for our mechanical design and manufacturing teams as we get closer to the mass production start date!

What’s Next for Backers

Whether you’re a Kickstarter pro or newbie, you can review the post-campaign game plan as it stands below, originally shared in Update #9.

Dates listed in the timelines below are estimates for your reference, and are subject to change.

June 30–July 7: Pledge Funds Collected

Status: In progress

Most backers should now have their pledges collected by Kickstarter. If you are experiencing any issues with your pledge payment, review your Kickstarter account and make any necessary changes.

July 11–24: Access to Your Pebble Pledge Portal

Status: Coming soon

During this time, we will invite you directly via email to access and set up your Pebble Pledge Portal. This dashboard will be the one place to manage everything about your Pebble reward(s):

  • Shipping address.
  • Color and/or finish preference(s).
  • Add extra items to your official reward at the Early Bird price for any selected add-ons.
  • Adjust any selections or details currently submitted.
  • Pay for any outstanding balances or taxes (if applicable).

Between receiving initial access to your Pebble Pledge Portal and when rewards start shipping later this year, you are free to change the information and selections you’ve entered at any time.

When your rewards are ready for shipping, we will email you directly to perform a final review before locking your Pledge Portal to further changes. For more information about pledge management, managing your pledge, or our reward fulfillment plan, visit our Kickstarter Help Page.

A Note About Reward Shipping Outside the US

For backers using Kickstarter for the first time or unfamiliar with importing international parcels, we want to note that you are the importer of record for any shipped Kickstarter rewards. While the Pebble Pledge Portal will let you pay for any VAT or taxes owed before shipping, any customs or importation fees are at the discretion of your region and are assessed by them.

We are not able to determine whether any individual Pebble reward shipped internationally will be screened by customs and charged extra importation fees or duties, nor can we mark any shipments as gifts (as much as we love you and want to send you gifts!).

For more information, visit our Help page.

Even More Software Updates

Current Pebblers can enjoy a fresh update to their watches and phone apps today. Highlights include improvements to Pebble Health for Time-Series watches and timezone fixes for users of Classic watches.

I ordered a black one, then read comments about the Time Steel black bezel scratching very easily. I asked whether there would be a stronger coating on the new one and was told by Pebble that it would be the same. I'm going to change my order to silver.

Wow, i hope the new pebble time 2 comes in polished gold too like the Kickstarter time rounds introduced in this campaign! Nontheless, thanks for the great job Pebble team! :)

..."nor can we mark any shipments as gifts (as much as we love you and want to send you gifts!). ".

Technically, it is a gift :) - or at least a REWARD for backing the project :) This is not like we are buying it, isn't it?
Just a joke, or course, I don't mind paying customs... but if we want to read everything to the letter...

Hi guys! I just want to know if anyone from the Philippines know how much duties will I have to pay for my backed project pebble 2? Thanks and Mabuhay!

    9. Jeff McLean on July 8, 2016

@k3s the time steels had a matt finish. Pebble in the campaign stated the PT2 would be the same colors as last years time. The only polished pebbles I have seen were the time round special Kickstarter editions that were a part of this campaign.

I would also be very interested to see some pictures of the PT2 in development phase. Also could you please clarify if the color is matt finish or polished finish?

    11. Danton on July 8, 2016

Would love to see more PT2 pictures / photographs ^^!

I got the Time 2 Round & was wondering if there was a vegan alternative for the watch band?? Thanks!

Duty/VAT are easy - this is my third time with Pebble. Just follow the instructions as they come out. You should know the sales tax in your country (20% in the UK). I think last time Pebble offered a pre-pay service for the sales tax and that was it. The item then shipped from the distrubutor within the EU - no problems expected shipping within the community.

Hi, I ordered a Pebble 2 from Spain, as I read in a previous post I have to pay some dutties, is it easy?, can I do that at the same time when I choose the colour and give my adress?
Has anyone of you ordered from EU in a previous Pebble on Kickstarter and had any problem with duties? thank you

    18. Lamata Alexandre on July 7, 2016

First, i chose a Pebble Core + Time 2 pack... Then, i thought about duty and taxes so i took only the Pebble Core... :( I'm confused... If only it was possible to know exactly how much we are going to pay ? I could be able to add my Time 2 to my order !

    19. Mandy on July 7, 2016

@ Andreas Shimokawa, yes i was confused with the new update too regarding taxes/duty too. I don't want my watch to be held up in customs. I also assumed they would all be paid up front like last year.

    20. Jeff McLean on July 7, 2016

Ck the main pebble website for up close pics of the time 2 in all color variations

Would it be possible to put up some close up pictures of the three Time 2 colours to make the choice of choosing colour a little easier?

    22. Atanas Mishev on July 7, 2016

@Pebble, please make sure that the clock will support Cyrillic. Thank you!

To quote a support message written personally to me, BEFORE I decided to back the Pebble 2:

"While EU orders will ship from within the EU, they must first be imported since they are sold through the US. This does mean that EU orders will still be required to pay applicable duties based on region. All duties will be prepaid before shipment to ensure quick delivery."

      Now:
"you are the importer of record for any shipped Kickstarter rewards"
      and
"While the Pebble Pledge Portal will let you pay for any VAT or taxes owed before shipping, any customs or importation fees are at the discretion of your region and are assessed by them"

    24. WNJ85 on July 7, 2016

@Wayne Goble a material harder than the screen will ALWAYS be able to scratch/break a softer material! The tarmac surface of the roads wears down the rubber on the tyres of my car, can i replace the worn rubber from the first year of use under warranty? No, it's wear and tear which isn't covered! If your Pebble has a hardware issue within warranty, it'll be replaced. You prang it off something hard and scratch the screen, that's wear and tear and not covered! I don't see what the issue is other than your own mis-care of the device! A year on and my PTS is fine and has never had any additional covering/protection on it!

Bought a Pebble 1 and the display broke within the warranty period. It was replaced, but the replacement broke right after the secondary warranty. Will you take adequate steps to ensure this doesn't happen again with the QC/QA process?

    28. Eric Price on July 6, 2016

With this watch, I'll own all except the Round, and I have to say that I'm as excited as I was the first time around. I appreciate that you guys continue to innovate when others might have given up given the robust competition. I can't wait to give the Core a go. Keep doing what you're doing. As much as I love my Apple products, I continue to hold off on the Apple Watch--not because I don't like it, but because I really want help ensure you guys keep at it. I think what you're doing is worthwhile.

If you are new to Pebble watches, please be aware that there is no warranty coverage for the glass screen on your watch, even during the warranty period. You are expected to purchase some form of additional protection for the screen. Pebble Support will merely explain to you that screen contact with any material harder than the screen glass can/will result in scratches/cracks in the screen. I had my Time Steel less than 6 months and the screen is permanently cracked without having any major impact to the screen.
I had supported Pebble through 2 Kickstarter campaigns and had also participated in this last campaign for the new Time 2 but once Customer Support dropped the ball and wouldn't stand behind their "warranty," I was out.
      BUYER BEWARE!!

This is a really solid update. Just like @Kathleen this is also my first Pebble product and really excited for it since been looking at the original Pebble for a long time.

For anyone either from the Pebble Team or the Pebble Community, if you have any suggestions or tips on apps to recommend, beginners things to know or any advice for a new Pebble User please comment would really like others thoughts on it.

      Thanks! ^_^
