Sand Cored Hollow Handle
Finish: Sanded or Machined you decide...
Let us know your thoughts in the comments section!!!
We are foundrymen and women who are deeply passionate about not only the foundry industry but crafts of all kinds. Our specialty has been in the sand core business servicing large foundries but have now applied that knowledge into more common and everyday uses that anyone can appreciate. We are offering a line of cast cookware that incorporates a sand core into it's design, a feature that makes it truly unique but still resembles the wonderful craftsmanship of the vintage pieces. This feature makes the cookware much easier to handle over the flat molded handle that you may be more used to seeing. One of the key challenges we faced was that we wanted a one piece design that would last forever and the use of a core fit into what we wanted beautifully all while maintaining a familiar and simple look. Also, the inside surface is machined to a smooth finish to help release food and makes the skillet a little lighter than as it is broken right out of the mold. On the underside you will notice that we've incorporated heat rings which resemble the look of the vintage pieces as well. We season the cookware with a flax seed oil and it comes ready to use right out of the box. (Although we do recommended seasoning prior to use as a nice glass-like black patina will form the more it is seasoned eventually making food slide out of the pan with ease). The pictures you are seeing are of our first ever produced prototype. The production pieces will have some type of identification mark with our brand name on it. The first run of castings will be labeled indicating that they are the first production pieces ever poured, meaning that they may in fact someday become highly sought after by collectors and will only be available through this Kickstarter campaign. It is our hope that through Kickstarter we can gain enough interest to move forward with the production tooling and equipment needed to produce these on a greater scale. If we are successful in this campaign we hope to launch a lid as well as other sizes and cookware pieces. As mentioned above we are foundrymen, not chefs, so with that being said any further input from the public is always welcome. We thank you for your interest and we are very excited to be working with you!

Risks and challenges
One of the biggest risks for us doing this project is that we are new to crowdfunding. We are committed to producing a quality product and will do whatever is necessary to build confidence in our customers but working through Kickstarter is something we are not accustomed to.
Thank you for your patience!
