About this project
Transient is a film dealing with the struggles of a homeless man and a businessman. It portrays the similarities between the two and shows that, in fact, they are not very different people after all.
In America, the homeless tend to be very looked down upon. They are seen as useless, annoying, dangerous, even hopeless. In reality, however, these people are just humans, like your or I, who happen to be in a tough spot in life. In many of their circumstances, homelessness is actually inevitable.
The purpose of this film is to shine a light on the humanity of the homeless. To help people simply realize and acknowledge that the homeless deserve just as much love and respect as anyone else. The film does not promote any political campaigns or policies to change homelessness in America or anything like that. It simply and humbly calls for sensitivity and love to be exposed to those who, at first glance, may not seem deserving of it.
The Making of
The film itself will be very simple and artistic. It will be shot this summer by a small crew in Massachusetts. I myself have film experience in professional and documentary film settings and am hoping to branch out into a more personal and creative narrative with this film. We are going to have fun with this project, but also want to keep focused on the simple ideology that makes up its content.
Why we need money
Film making is very expensive and that is why we are trying to keep this production small and simple. However, even to do that, we do need a small amount of money. Although it will be simple, we need a few resources so we can effectively get our message across.
Therefore, the $1500 will be used to buy costumes, props, food for the cast and crew, and will pay for transporting everyone to the different shoot locations. That's it! We're not requesting big rigs or huge production toys. Just enough money to survive with our cameras and cars long enough to bring our message to life.
The rewards are fun, the goal is small, and the message is important. Every dollar helps! By donating you not only help make this film possible, but you also become a participant in the spreading of this joy-filled, meaningful message.
