About this project
I created LCS Hockey (http://www.lcshockey.com) along with my pals Jim Iovino, Matthew Secosky, and Michael Secosky back in 1994. Originally a print publication and email newsletter produced out of my basement, LCS started its own web site in 1995, becoming one of the first hockey sites on the Internet and setting the blueprint for all future hockey blogs.
From 1995-2000, LCS had a staff of over 30 writers and full media status with many NHL teams, gaining a large, loyal following due to its comedic hockey coverage. The site has come and gone many times over the years, with its most recent run lasting from 2006-2010.
I've always done LCS for the love of the game, and I never had a desire to work for another hockey publication. Unfortunately, time constraints have made it difficult to keep the site running. I'm currently working full-time on my MFA in creative writing, pursuing a fiction writing career, and working as a freelancer. Doesn't leave much time for hockey.
This Kickstarter project is an attempt to raise enough money to bring LCS Hockey back for the 2012-13 NHL season. Coverage would include three to five posts a week and feature such LCS fixtures as the Season Preview, the Player Ratings Extravaganza, and the usual assorted nonsense that came to define LCS Hockey.
Raised funds will also allow for the creation of LCS Hockey publishing, an electronic publishing imprint to support my original fiction writing and the works of other aspiring writers.
