About the Film:
In the 30’s and 40’s supper clubs sprung up around the United States. They provided a place for people to spend their evenings enjoying cocktails, home cooked, high class food and entertainment. The supper club scene slowly faded from the rest of the country, but took a strong root in Wisconsin. Around for decades, supper clubs in Wisconsin have been able to hold their own style and traditions. They offer unique food, atmosphere and a personal touch that is not seen in the modern dining trends of dine and dash. Old Fashioned: The Story of the Wisconsin Supper Club will take you into this world that is uniquely Wisconsin.
Please also watch the Kickstarter video above for a glimpse the style and content of the film.
Here is the trailer for the documentary to give you a taste:
Thank you so much for checking out our Kickstarter page. We are so excited to be in the final stages of our film. Many hours of research, travel and shooting have gone into this project, not to mention the blood, sweat and tears! The above video is just a taste of the wonderful footage we have shot and the multilayered story that we will be telling. But even in the final stages of a film there are a lot of costs that add up. We are looking to raise $5,000 to cover the expenses that are listed below.
Entries $25-$100: per each entry
Postage to mail festival submissions: $10 per each entry
DVD Duplication for Festival entries: $150
New and larger external drive to keep the project on: $300
Pre composed music: $500
Archival Images: $300
HDCAM Master Tape for Festival Viewings: $450
Print Postcards to hand out for promotional material: $200
Media Packets to give out at film festivals: $500
Small compensation to crew who worked on the film: $1,000
Editor pay to finish the project on time: $1,500
As you can see, the finishing of a film and getting it out to the viewing public is a costly endeavor. The funding for the pre-production and production stages of the film were largely paid for by the filmmaker, private donations and money raised at a Chicago fundraiser where the trailer was premiered. We are very excited to see the project coming together so wonderfully and can’t wait to share it with everyone.
By donating you will not only be supporting independent filmmaking but also awareness of these family owned and operated businesses that are striving to continue to provide this unique dining experience.
Kickstarter is the largest funding platform for creative projects in the world. Every month tens of thousands of amazing people pledge millions of dollars to projects from the worlds of music, art, film, technology, design, food, and other creative fields. Every Kickstarter project must be fully funded before its time expires.
What Happens If We Don't Reach Our Goal
If we don't raise our goal, we don't get anything. Donors make pledges but don't actually pay until the goal is reached and the funding deadline has passed. We must reach our goal, so please spread the word. Everything helps!

Please note that if you donate at the level where you will get a copy of
the film you will not receive it until after the film is done with the
film festival circuit, which we can't give an exact date for as of yet. Thanks for
checking out our page!
