Originally I had the idea to make a game table for my gaming group. This table would be able to sit on top of another table and make better use of a small space, yet be put away when you are done play. Thus was born this table.
You may ask why we need to raise some money to create the plans, and it is a good question. Right now we have some old sketchup plans that were based off an old design, and nothing else. So to create actual plans, we will have to build a whole new table, and put the plans together, take detailed pictures, figure out a cut sheet so that the minimal amount of materials is wasted, and the best way to do the cuts without a lot of fancy equipment. So this initial money will cover the materials and time to put this all together.
Our goal here is to produce a set of designs that anyone can purchase and take and either build their own similar table, or use it as a starting point for customization. If we reach our funding goal we plan to have basic designs, a cut sheet, and suggested materials, as well as a detailed step by step directions on this.
The separators are not integral to the structure so we will include what steps to ignore if you do not want them, or how to make them less permanent.
We also plan to produce a few tables for those who choose to purchase them, and even customize them depending on the funding level.
We have the following stretch goals
750 - Alternate design to have the GM side of the table to have a sloped lid with a lip like an old writing desk - UNLOCKED
1000 - Add an alternate design with drawers underneath for the DM - UNLOCKED
1500 - Add design plans for a hinged lid - UNLOCKED
2000 - Add lighting schematics and options to the design - UNLOCKED
2500 - design a collapsible version(breaks down into cubbies) you can break down for storage - UNLOCKED
3000 - Add a plan for addable dice towers to plan on the table - UNLOCKED
3500 - options for dice cups, drink holder, and tack board at each station - UNLOCKED
4000 - Hidden Stretch award - graham cracker crumb brownie recipe - UNLOCKED
5000 - plans for a hardwood, furniture grade, table with legs, felt playing surface - UNLOCKED
6000 - Modular/collapsible design has a drawer added to each cubby
Risks and challenges
Getting the designs done will be the easy part any delay will be in the individual construction of the tables and then getting them painted for those who have ordered them. Those may take some more time, but we will endevour to get those produced as quickly as possible.
