iXtra was founded by Bassam Dayem & Dr. George Tannous in 2014. The inspiration for creating an advanced smartcase was a shared frustration over the memory, battery life and file management capabilities of their Apple devices. Research into after-market Apple products led the entrepreneurial team to discover that the “Apple ecosystem” had created extremely loyal, but not altogether happy universe of customers which shared the same frustrations.
The confluence of clear market demand for enhanced iPhone power, memory and file storage with their engineering backgrounds led Bassam and George to create iXtra. Within a year, the Company has developed and validated its market-leading suite of smartcases.
Bassam Dayem is a serial technology entrepreneur and co-founder of iXtra Technologies. Bassam has worked with multiple Fortune 100 companies, including Apple, Cisco and IBM over his 20 year technology career. As CEO of iXtra Tech, Bassam has led the creation of the most advanced smartcase available on the market today.
Over his career, Bassam has founded and grown multiple companies in the consumer electronics and semiconductor technology sectors. He is founder and primary shareholder in Saibas Technology Inc., a go-to engineering services and solutions provider for Fortune 500 companies including Microsemi, Conexant, Lattice, Solantro and Mindspeed.
Bassam is a graduate from British Columbia institute of Technology and has a Project Management Degree from George Washington University. He has also authored multiple patents with the US Patent office.

He has also authored and co-authored more than 20 issued patents in the wafer surface preparation during semiconductor processing and others.
Dr. Tannous obtained a Mechanical Engineering Ph.D. in 1988, with concentration in the Energy systems, his Masters in 1985 from Clarkson University in Potsdam NY, and his B.S., Magna cum laude, in 1983 from Tulsa University. He has obtained his Professional Engineering License from the New York state.
Risks and challenges
We've been toiling behind the scenes for the last 2 years and working hard to ensure the case will work better than you could ever imagine!
As with any project that incorporates hardware, firmware and software, there's always a chance they won't play well with one another and that we'll have to make some tweaks. We're taking every precaution to make sure that doesn't happen but rest assured any issues that come up will be quickly addressed with software upgrades.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
