When I was 8 years old, I told my Dad I wanted to do music for life. He told me I would fail because, “there isn’t any money in music.” He was right and wrong. There isn’t much money in music, but there is plenty of love. I’ve become successful in using that love to communicate with people and help them understand themselves and society better.
I am raising $5,000 to bring a live audio-visual experience to nine cities: New York, Toronto, Detroit, Chicago, Los Angeles, Oakland, Seattle, DC, and Philly.
Q. What do you believe and why?
A. I believe that our society is greater than what we have been told we are. We are told that we are in debt and unsuccessful, but I don’t believe success is based on money. I’ve learned that success is based on personal growth. We are all as valuable as we allow ourselves to be.
Here's just a sliver of the full tour experience.
Q. Why are you launching this Kickstarter?
A. I’m launching this Kickstarter because I want to spread this love to more audiences than I can currently afford to reach, at least physically. This tour is my opportunity to continue building upon the mutuality between artist and audience--recognizing we are all empowered beings, encouraging people to see that within themselves and continuing to grow within myself as an artist.
Q. What are you asking for?
A. I am asking for $5,000 to cover travel and expenses for a 9-city tour. This tour will help me spread the joy and love that I have gained from my journey of self-discovery through music, to all of you. The tour is a unique experience that will hopefully inspire people to begin or continue their own journeys of self-discovery :)
Here's another glimpse into the kind of experience once can see on tour:
Q. How do I donate?
A. You can pledge any dollar amount. Kickstarter follows an All or Nothing crowd-funding model, so if we do not reach the $5,000 goal, your pledge will not be deducted from your account. Remember, funds will only be deducted from your account on January 16, 2015 if I reach my goal.
Specifically, the funds raised from this Kickstarter will go directly towards: travel (i.e. bus and plane tickets), equipment (i.e. white vinyl, gaffers tape, wifi SD cards, projector, etc.), and lodging.
To be honest, the amount of love and support I've received so far - on this path, on this journey - is beyond my comprehension. My recent experiences and the support I've received helps me see the positivity in our world. Without you, I am nothing. Thank you.
Risks and challenges
Q. What are the Risks of carrying out this tour?
A. Although I am diligently working out the logistics of this tour, original installations accompany my musical performances. It is not guaranteed that every venue on my "wish list" can accommodate the set ups for my shows.
Q. How will you over come this?
A. I anticipate overcoming this challenge by scouting venues that are more, in a sense, DIY venues that allow me the freedom to be hands on in creating my own temporary performance space.
Q. What are the Challenges of this tour?
A. Ideally, a 9-city tour could take place over the course of a month or a month and a half, however, this tour may end up being a bit longer. I anticipate having to take advantage of lower travel fares, and being at the mercy of selecting the dates on which those fares fall.
Q. How will you overcome this challenge?
A. Because I anticipate being grounded at some point due to selecting lower travel fares, this longer tour schedule will allow me the opportunity to actually engage with the community in the places I am playing, which will possibly lead to additional dates within these cities.
Thank you. You're awesome.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
