LK3's vision is to be a design collective bringing together worlds of talented thinkers and doers. Our first product reinvents the traditional button down dress shirt with creative and versatile updates inspired by society's relentless pursuit of innovation, technology and design.
In our experience, traditional button down shirts can be boxy and unflattering. We were inspired by European/Asian fit & styling, and took measurements from those markets into consideration for LK3’s first design - resulting in a more tailored fit.
In a sea of button downs, it can be hard for a guy to stand out. Plaids, solids, oxfords - guys end up owning the same six button up dress shirts but in slightly different colors & patterns. Ever find yourself wearing almost the exact same outfit as a friend, out to dinner or the bars?
LK3’s design is subtle yet bold. Modern adventurers, you have an opportunity to add a unique piece to your wardrobe. A fresh look can inspire confidence in yourself and in others.
The materials have been carefully selected. We chose a European styled fabric that yields the right amount of flexibility, color retention & breathability. The 97% cotton and 3% spandex fabric sits comfortably moves as fast as you do.
The product was designed and prototyped in Los Angeles, then pre-produced at carefully selected, centerpoint manufacturing facility in the Asia Pacific, with parts assembled from Taiwan, Hong Kong & China & ultimately shipped to US.
The funds raised in our Kickstarter will go towards the first production run, in which LK3 shirts will be hand-crafted in small batches.
LK3 Logo & Mission:
In our logo, notice the K fits into the negative space of L & 3. The three characters meld together into one unified geometric form, representing a symbiotic, cohesive collaboration. We were inspired to design the cube as a 3-dimensional graphical representation of our identity. We drafted the CAD blueprints then 3D printed a prototype for approval. The 3D cubes are then manufactured with aluminum. (available as Kickstarter reward, but cute kitty/tortoise not included)!
We've been working on this for 2+ years.
The first prototypes are beyond ready. Through over a dozen iterations, the zippered dress shirt is finally ready for full production.
We've mastered the manufacturing (fit, colors, cuts) and custom details. The pieces are all in place.
We're down to the final barrier. We need your help to bring LK3 to life. The funds will go towards covering the manufacturing and production, as well as any prototyping of the future designs (below).
In the future, we hope to expand our product line and bring our full production right here in Los Angeles. Made in America.
After the Kickstarter campaign, the Zippered Dress Shirt will likely retail for $75, so Kickstarter is THE opportunity to support us at the lowest financial cost from the very beginning. Beyond our first prototype, we’ve developed a series of designs under the umbrella of LK3, and can't wait to share them with you.
We want to get to know you & we want you to get to know us! Our professional backgrounds & personal passions have definitely influenced our vision for LK3. By launching LK3 exclusively on Kickstarter, we have the opportunity to offer our family, friends, colleagues & the Kickstarter community first.
Part of our mission is to build products with purpose, creating a movement around inspiration. We’re passionate about mentoring and community development. We’re hoping that with LK3, our products and our story inspire young people to create. We would love to find those people, bring them into our community and share their stories with the world.

Risks and challenges
We have a working prototype and can proudly state that the shirt looks and feels outstanding. We went through a 2 year development process and invested $10,000 of our own personal funds.
Having worked with our manufacturer for 2 years we can vouch for their quality and reliability. We've visited the factory ourselves. We've got a production schedule and are confident in our suppliers and vendors for both the inputs and manufacturing.
That said, there are inherent risks of delay in the process. We will communicate with both our backers and our manufacturer throughout the campaign to ensure the fulfillment timeline stays true.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
