About

So what is CallCop™?  [RRP £91.67 + Postage]

CallCop™ is a simple plug-and-go device that installs between your landline telephone socket and your telephone. As we all know, the companies that use cold-call technology regularly change the number they are calling from. This would mean updating your 'blocking' list after you have received the nuisance call, - if the number is even displayed in the first place.

With CallCop™ you do not need caller ID, manual inputting of phone numbers on lists, or costly monthly payments. Unlike other call-blocking devices, CallCop™ operates immediately upon activation. It is compatible with most European and USA analogue landline protocols and can function effectively on most International landline systems.

CallCop™ does not record details of your inbound or outbound calls, so your data remains totally confidential to you at all times.

Background.

In 2015 more than 175,000 complaints were made to the Information Commissioner's Office (IOC UK) about nuisance calls. [www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-31616523].   Which? (UK) Consumer Group's research has shown that “as many as four out of five people regularly receive cold calls at home, with around one-third reporting that they are left feeling intimidated”.  [Which? Consumer Group - research.  Sanyx decided to do something about this.

Following on from our success at developing a plug-in device to block spam faxes, (www.faxcop.co.uk), we have developed our CallCop™ system to block those annoying telemarketing/robocall calls.

We will be using the same enclosure as we have for FaxCop® and this will help reduce production cost.  You can see CallCop™ in action below, blocking cold-calls at our office.  No noise, no fuss, - it just works away in the background blocking those annoying robocalls, so your time is not wasted or interrupted having to respond to unwanted calls.

Why are we using Kickstarter?

Whilst the company, Sanyx, has not itself backed many projects on Kickstarter, members of the team have individually backed over 10 projects through Kickstarter.  We just love the innovation that is out there.

We think Kickstarter is a great platform for helping us test the market demand for our product, not just an avenue for financial support.

We felt that Kickstarter was an alternative way for us to to reach new users and get relevant market feedback.  We want to hear from our supporters so that we can develop our product further.

CallCop™ is not financially dependent on the Kickstarter campaign's success.  The main goal of this campaign is to test the demand for our product and gain valuable feedback from our supporters.  However, whilst we have been granted the CE mark approval for use within the European Union we do not yet have Federal Communications Commission (FCC) approval for the USA.  This is one of the goals of this campaign.  Should we reach our target we will apply for FCC approval, which we estimate will take approximately 6 weeks.

Risks and challenges

We know developing a new product and bringing it to market can be both exciting and challenging. We already have tried and tested working prototypes. Our Company is up and running and CallCop™ is patented.

We have applied for a registered trademark for CallCop™ in both the UK/Europe and the USA.

The main risk to our backers in the USA would be a delay in attaining FCC certification. Should there be a delay or unforeseen complication in gaining this certification we will keep our backers informed in a timely manner. To gain the European CE mark our product was rigorously tested and we therefore do not see attaining FCC certification as a major risk.

We have a production schedule in place and have a number of suppliers ready to go. We anticipate a 6-8 week lead-in from order to shipping. This lead-in period allows for a margin of error should there be unforeseen delays in production or shipping, although we do not foresee any major pitfalls.

Everything has been tested, and we have completed a sample production run. We are sure we have covered all the foreseeable pitfalls, - notwithstanding Murphy's Law!
