Who's Moosetache?
Moosetache is a lovable moose wall light that mixes fun, sculptural elegance and functionality together, all in equal measures. He's also the only moustache wearing moose we know!
At Blue Marmalade we have been busy in our studio for almost a year developing Moosetache, preening and perfecting the design continually over this time.

Now we feel he's ready to meet the world but could use a bit of help getting him out there, so lets introduce you:

Moosetache Lamp:
This wall mounted lamp is in the form of a stylised moose head that comes with a set of moustaches. His interchangeable moustache set lets you pick the perfect moose persona for your room or to suite the mood of the moment.
Moosetache fixes to the wall simply and easily and is designed for LED or compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFL). You can even boost his IQ with a super bright 15W CFL or keep him dim but happy with a 9W CFL, how bright he is is up to you!
Moosetache is made from a unique blend of 100% recycled plastic to a zero landfill policy in Great Britain and we are proud to vouch for his lineage. The material has been developed by us specifically for lighting and produces a warm welcoming glow.

Moosetache Sculpture:
Just like the Moosetache lamp but with no lamp element. We admit not everyone will need another lamp but may still want to give a home to Moosetache so here he is! A perfect sculptural element to give every interior the perfect fun twist.
The Moosetache sculpture has the same fittings inside ready for the electrical components so if you wish to upgrade from the sculpture to a lamp in the future this is easy to do.
(unfortunately we are not able to supply electrical fittings for use outside of the EU and USA.)

Moosetache moustaches:
A set of moustaches for your home, car, work, fridge, beer bottle or just about anywhere! This is a full pack of the four moustaches on their own, with four bottle mounts. The mounts simply clip around the neck of a bottle so you can identify your beer bottle at a party. The moustaches can be affixed to wherever you want in your home, car, office or just about any where using tape, sticky pads or Blu-Tack or similar Poster Tack!
So why settle for a man size moustache when you can have a moose sized moustache!

Say hello to the moustaches:

Country Gent:
With a perfect set of Edwardian principles and chivalry at heart, this gent is honour bound to stand up for what's right and will see off any bounders or cads. With his moustache waxed to perfection he's recognisable at 10 paces and effortlessly sets the tone whether you're eating a buttered scone or drinking the finest brandy. With this gent in the house you can rest assured life will have substance and convey a suitably prim and proper image to all who gaze.

Brigadier:
A stiff upper lip and a chin held high, this fine chap will see you through the thick and thin of life. His never wavering fine moustache will set a stride of confidence into everything you do. There are some that might say this fine brigadiers moustache shares a passing resemblance to a 1980s private investigator, the namesake of a powerful hand gun. Either way, what a fine fellow to have hanging about.

Lumberjack:
He's a lumberjack and he's OK. In fact, very OK by us anyway with his rugged outdoor good looks and a fine bull moustache. Originally of the MacGregor clan this young whopping man has left his gentle Argyll countryside in search of fine trees and adventure. Now he's matured into the handsome giant of the woods and can swing his antlers as deftly as any axe.

Biker:
Handle bars, not just a style, but a way of life! This wily old biker has been around a few gangs and even earned his colours over the years before turning his back on the code to go it alone. He's a lone rider and tough enough to command respect wherever he goes. Even though some wrestlers or young and trendy calf's may try to imitate his cool moustache-of-the-road, only this horned biker is tough enough to wear the true original.

Easy To Hang:
Not only is Moosetache fun and good looking but he's eminently practical. Every Moosetache comes with a custom made hook as standard that is easy to apply to your wall; it too also resembles a moose head in shape at the bottom. This hook sticks to the wall with a supplied 3M Command strip or you can use a pin, a nail or even a screw to fix him to your wall, what ever you feel is best.

Moosetache is so easy to build even the moustaches can build one all by themselves. Well OK not all by themselves, they had a little help but check out the video, its fun and will give you a good idea of how simple Moosetache is to build.

Special Edition:
The lumberjack is a Scotsman at heart from the MacGregor clan and to celebrate his Scottish lineage we have the "MacMoose" Edition. This bonnie lad has a Ginger moustache and a Ginger fabric finished cord instead of the usual transparent cord.

Custom Material:
The material Moosetache is made from is a bit unique, well actually, it very unique. It's our own blend on plastic and its made from 100% recycled material. Our unique plastic enhances the colour of the light and makes it warm and cosy while still bright, whether you put a CFL or LED light bulb in it. Its also 100% recyclable and all offcuts from the production process go right back into new material for our product so we don't waste any material at any stage. The material we make our products from is very important and we like to get this right, right from the start.

Project Timeline:
Moosetache is ready to go we just need your support to meet the production minimums and to place the orders so the turn around will be quick, about 6 weeks in total from the end of our Kickstarter campaign to having product shipping. The breakdown will be:

Risks and challenges
The risks involved in the manufacture of Moosetache are fairly small, considering Blue Marmalade’s existing expertise, industry links and successes with other similar products in the same material.
The real challenge is raising a significant level of sales to launch Moosetache so we can afford the tooling and stock holding required. The tooling for Moosetache is much more involving than our usual product lines; in fact Moosetache will need six separate production tools and will cost significantly more. To achieve a competitive price for the electrical components we will also have to purchase these in large quantities which represents a funding problem for the launch.
The design of Moosetache has taken a long time, mainly down to ensuring the assembly of it is straight forward and not too difficult. We have produced countless prototypes and many expensive digitally cut samples which have proved the design. These digitally cut samples are what we have used in our project photography.
This will be our second Kickstarter project (first project: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/58738657/not-knot-cable-organiser-and-headphones-protector ) so we are confident that we will be able to communicate well and fulfil all the pledges quickly. We learnt a lot on the first project and now understand where the delays are in the Kickstarter process and can now work efficiently with our backers.
