And, a HUGE THANK YOU goes out to Yazoo Brewing Company for their donation of large cardboard pieces for the carousel book project we made over at the University School of Nashville.  The pages turned out great!  Some of the finished works can be seen here.

Additionally, check out the teacher feature on Carmen Mims over at the blog.  The Deliciously Happy workshops start up at LEAD Academy in January . . .

LET'S MAKE THIS HAPPEN:  Choose a reward.  Donate.  Receive a handmade gift.  It's that simple.

The Video Element.

Posted by Lindsey Bailey (Creator)

The Kickstarter fundraising is primarily supporting the video element of this show.  The documentation part of the Deliciously Happy project is really important.  Not only is it a time capture of the students and a record of teaching and production for the schools involved, but this documentation will be edited to bring the viewer into the process behind the artworks being made.

Something that is usually missing from gallery shows is how the artist got to the work you see in the gallery.  The documentation portion of this project will provide a peek into the work while it is being created:  that allusive, experimental part of art making that people attending the opening reception or gallery show don't generally get the opportunity to see . . .

The edited video pieces are instrumental in finalizing the installation.  You will hear stories from the students about the work they have made, while seeing them create it.  And each of the students bring such a unique perspective to this work, hearing about their experience through a projected video combined with seeing the artwork in person will be amazing!

Sound, moving footage, and physical artwork all in one space:  what a fabulous way to celebrate youth . . .
