Hello Kickstarter! I am Jonathan Lau and I am a Magic-holic. I started my company, Wizardry Foundry, about a year ago to fulfill the needs of many Magic-holics like me. I noticed a necessity within the Magic community for a sturdy, reliable deck box and got to work providing the perfect solution. Within a year of launch my company has successfully provided the community with a perfect deck protection box. The Grimoire series deck box is ever changing with more stylish designs and functional improvements on the way! But, can I really expect tournament travelers to lug full size Grimoire Deck Boxes around everywhere they go? Absolutely NOT!
Introducing the Grimoire Pro Tour! After using our Grimoire Deck Boxes during travel to and from tournaments, I realized that the size of the box was making travel cumbersome. So, my team and I decided it is time to make a smaller deck box for frequent travelers. The Grimoire Pro Tour deck box is a smaller and more portable version of our Grimoire Deck Boxes. Players need an excellent way to get their decks to and from tournaments with ease and that's exactly what the Grimoire Pro Tour is for!
The Pro Tour is designed with the tournament in mind. With the capacity to hold 300 cards in one case for safe traveling, the Pro Tour is for the traveling Magic player. Your tournament deck, EDH deck, and your draft sleeves will fit comfortably inside. There is even room to store accessories like dice. All of your tournament needs in one box.
The Pro Tour shares a similar design with the Alpha Edition Grimoire Deck Box, but is remarkably smaller, making it an easier deck box to carry. Whether you are going to tournaments challenging amateurs and pros alike, or just to a friends house to make them weep, the Pro Tour will make the trip more comfortable. An added bonus on the Pro Tour that was adopted from the 3rd Edition Grimoire is the safety latch. Every Pro Tour deck box comes with latch to safeguard your deck from falling out.
We recently did a survey with our customers and discovered that we can improve the art on the spine of the Grimoire. It was a great suggestion and our design team had come up the brand new design for the spine. The new design delivers a very consistent theme across the whole product to create the spellbook look and feel you like.

Evolution of Design
We have been building the Grimoire for a little over a year. Here is a brief history of our design evolution and how we have been working to make our product better for the community.
We launched our Alpha Edition Grimoire Deck Box in April of 2014, providing players with a well engineered box to protect their precious Magic The Gathering decks. The outside of the Alpha Edition is made of tough engineered wood and the cover is texturized to have the aged look and feel. The inside is features a felt liner to protect the integrity of your deck. The front cover opens seamlessly and is kept shut when your box is not in use with a magnet. However, we felt we could do better, so we did.
In June of 2014 we reintroduced the Grimoire Deck Box with the Beta Edition. The Beta Edition is structurally the same as the Alpha, but includes metal corner protectors. This edition was created in the image of the Gods of the Theros Block. Sporting a blue and Greek design with white or gold motifs, and an image of the sea god Poseidon on the back cover, the Beta Edition Grimoire was here to make waves.
Our community spoke to us and we listened. In February of 2015 we introduced the 3rd Edition Grimoire Deck Box. We redesigned the Grimoire to take care of an issue that some of our friends were having with the Alpha and Beta editions. That is, the box would open during travel. On the 3rd Edition we introduced a mystic book latch that would ensure the safety of a traveling players decks. Along with that we redesigned again to a red color scheme. This ensured we had a designs that fit all sorts of decks. A dark design (Alpha Edition) for dark players, a blue design (Beta Edition) for blue players, and a red design (3rd Edition) for red sligh players.
