Who are The Assault Group and what is the Tudor Project
The Assault Group (TAG), are an established manufacturer of 28mm white metal miniatures which are used by gamers, or painted for pleasure. Over the last seven years we have been working on a range of miniatures for the period 1500-1650 commonly called The Renaissance, at present this range alone has over a 1200 foot soldiers and almost 500 mounted miniatures, covering the conflicts of this period on three continents. The new Tudor-Valois range covers the wars between England and France in the mid-16th Century; it will include at least 130 new infantry miniatures and 50 new cavalry miniatures, as well as a couple of new artillery Ordinance pieces.

Why is an established company using this new site?
There are a few really good reasons why Kickstarter is attractive to an organization like ours; firstly, Kickstarter has become a phenomenon in the last couple of years, its reach, in terms of potential backers is huge, and the prospect of getting out in front of this many people is tantalizing for a niche market manufacturer such as ourselves and although it is possible for some projects to sail off into funding clear-blue-water, what TAG wish to concentrate on is the ‘Crowd’ aspect of the Crowd-funding.
The issue with our traditional working methods of working quietly and methodically to fill our customers armies completely; infantry, cavalry, artillery and generals, is that sales potential isn’t realized until all those elements are fully in place, and because of this many small and niche interest ranges like ours never see completion. TAG have been good at sticking to our niche and satisfying our customers needs, but Kickstarter allows TAG to gauge our potential Crowd and, whether there is enough interest to stretch us to make more than just the minimums necessary, before the project is launched.

Funding Goal £20,000
When we reach £20,000 we will make the whole English Tudor range of 28mm miniatures of about 100 different infantry miniatures and 30 new Cavalry miniatures plus whatever special miniatures are requested by our Backers.
Stretch 1) £25,000
At the £25,000 pledge level we will make custom dice for the Tudor dice game, Mia,
The rules will be printed and sent with the 2d6 enabling play of this authentic Tudor game of cunning and deception. One set of dice will be added to all Pledges at the £100 level or over.
Stretch 2) £30,000
At the £30,000 level we will release our whole Valois French range of miniatures, another 85 French and Swiss infantrymen and 25+ mounted miniatures, suitable for the period 1535 through to 1560. Plus we will add Character pledges similar to those at the £75, £200 and £300 levels in the English range.
How will you send the items, and how much will it's shipping cost?
TAG send all their items by Royal Mail first-class inland, and Air-Mail to all customers outside the UK. For the last 10 years we have been operating a policy of free-postage on all orders. In July of this year this policy will change and we will start to charge for the postage on all orders. Backers of the TAG Tudor Kickstarter will have all their Kickstarter pledge items shipped under the current FREE-SHIPPING policy regardless of the change coming in July.
Risks and challenges
What are the risks and how long will this all take?
The only real issue we can foresee, as an established organization, is the time scale for the release of the stretch goal miniatures. Our plans are to work on a rolling release model so that those backing the Kickstarter will receive their miniatures as soon as they are made. We have a large number of the English finished right now and more will be delivered across the next few weeks allowing us to deliver to those that want English Tudors now, and we have French miniatures in pre-production so we will be able to start delivering on these across the course of the summer this year, but if we are pushed the next armies will take a further 6, 12, or 18 months. The current TAG Renaissance range has been 8 years in the making, and adding another 400 miniatures for this range is at least 2 years more work.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
